Islamization of knowledge

• The curriculum development of YIU is firstly began by offering

courses in Islamic studies as the approach in managing Islamic

curriculum. The university has occupy the revealed knowledge as

the course requirements and elective subjects.

• YIU has given chances for student to freely choose their minors.

This helps in integrate curriculum between Islamic studies and

acquired knowledge as well as perfecting the personality of

individuals. It is allied with the comments of Ahmad al-Beely

“ Student who are in general studies should learn about religious knowledge

for their basic in belief, ibadah and akhlaq as well as the requirement for Arabic

language for their primary sources. Whereas students who are in religious

studies must not only be able to memorize al-qur’an and hadith and good in

Arabic language, but also learn in general knowledge and at least one of

foreign language in their dawah and defending Islam from misunderstanding.”
