Major achievements:
Establishment of Highway Engineering Lab:
New well-equipped Highway Engineering Laboratory was established using the grant
Rs. 5 lakhs sanctioned by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in 1994.
Equipments have been procured and erected to carry out various tests for class work and
consultancy on highway materials.
The lab is modernized using the grant Rs.14.65 lakhs, sanctioned by All India Council for
Technical Education(AICTE), in 2012.
After the establishment of Highway Engineering Laboratory, a New Practical Course
“Highway Engineering Laboratory” was introduced in the curriculum for B.E. Civil
Engineering, V Semester students from the year 2000 onwards.
16. Consultancy & Contribution through Highway Engineering Lab:
Consultancy service is being offered to various Government and private agencies. Various
tests on bitumen, aggregate and bitumen-aggregate mixes are being carried out. The following are
some of the beneficiary agencies.

24. International Conference Organized:
Convener for the International Conference on Advances in Civil Engineering Materials
and Processes (ICACEMAP 2015) during January 7-9, 2015 at Coimbatore Institute of
Technology, Coimbatore. The conference was a great success collaborated with various
institutes like University of North Carolina Charlotte USA UNCC, Kuwait Institute of
scientific research Kuwait KISR, National University of Singapore NUS along with
National Institute of Technology Trichy.

We also published a Special issue on the conference proceedings in the International
Journal of Applied Engineering Research (IJAER), a Scopus Indexed Journal coming
under Annexure II – Anna University by Research India Publishers, New Delhi.
