Educational Background:
1988: Ph.D. Ain Shams University, Ciro, Egypt; Faculty of Engineering, Department of
Civil Engineering (Joint supervision with Westminster University, U.K.). The
Ph.D. program included a research work resulted in a thesis titled by
" Dynamic Response of Cable-Stayed Bridges. " Theoretical, and numerical
studies have been performed for cable-stayed bridges due to newely
developed simulated E-Q technique. A 20 m model for box girder cable
stayed bridge was designed ,constructed and tested (statically and
dynamically) at the laboratory of Westminster University , U.K. through
Ph.D program.

transmission towers and to check the validity of several design rules in a
number of codes of practice.

- Evaluation of the assessment seismic and design report of the 500 KV
transmission line across the Suez Canal, EPS Company.
- Design of steel communication towers (Orascom Company, Amon Company,
Giza Company).
- Design or design reviewing of several power stations, Engineering Power
System Company, (500/400/220 KV Taba station, 500/220 KV Suez station,

Some Significant Projects :
- New Terminal Building no. 3, Cairo Airport :Technical Report for Seismic
upgrade for structural and non-structural element, of New Terminal Building
no. 3, Cairo Airport, international committee, Engineering Consultant Groups,
2005.( Technical committee from U. S. A. participated in review the report ).
- Main cable roof hall –Cairo :Experiemtal and analytical study have been
carried during construction stages . The first of its kind in Africa and the
Middle East and third in the world, nine of 20 thousand viewers, a round
internal diameter 120 meters and high 39.5 meters.
- Ministry of electricity : Design, repair and strengthening of big numbers of
existing transmission towers all around Egypt.
- National Center for Research on Housing and Construction:Evaluation ,
and repair serious cracks and damage in 40 buildings in Housing trade unions Nasr city, Cairo
- Monitoring and Assessment of four guyed masts (70 km on Cairo-Ismalia Road), the
cable forces were adjusted by adjustment of the cable lengths to the end turn buckle
at the anchorages of cables in the site (A special software program including
nonlinear behaviour of cables was used for the analysis) .

- General Building Education Authority : Site investigation, repair,
strengthening and supervision more than 300 existing school buildings in
Cairo region .
- Ancient masonary building of Department stamp and balances in Cairo:
Site investigation, repair, strengthening and supervision for special work for
foundations, sever damage of masonary bearing walls as well as deep cracks
every where .
- Bahrain business park residential building: The building consists of three
parts with various number of floors (maximum number 24 floors).The analysis
and design were according to American Standards ACI. Advanced Pounding
analysis during E-Q records were considered with and without dampers.
- Design of a group of steel cold form towers for Cryo American Company
Advanced analyseis for wind and E-Q were carried out.
- Nile city tower building , Sanstifano hotel building and City stare mole
Building:Checking and approval the design of cladding system according to
the results of wind tunnel tests,(A scaled model for each building was used
for the testing. Terrain category atmospheric boundary layer was modeled in
the wind tunnel. Experimental and theoretical results for cladding wind
pressure were considered for design ).
