My responsibilities include processing journal entries through oracle, handling sub-ledgers and reconciliation for various processes by following and ensuring compliance with various financial policies.
A brief list of process that I handle is as follows:
Bank Journalization - Daily downloading of Bank Statement from Bank website. The total of all funds journalized at the month end. Ensuring the balance in the general ledger is zero at the month end.
Prepaid Amortization- This process is processed by using Trial Balance report creation of MJE and posting of prepaid amortization MJE in general ledger.
Accrual- the journal entry is processed for accruing the expenses for the call center expenses for the balance unbilled days for the month in the general ledger.
Revenue Allocation- the journal entry is processed for allocating the revenue to different accounts based on sales generated by that account during the month.
Amortization- The purpose of the MJE is to expense the prepayment for airport clubs for a period of 24 months.
Abandoned Property rejects- Properties for which the owner cannot be found are transferred to the AP rejects account according to the policy for Abandoned Property policy in US.
Sub-Ledgers- A process in which the general ledger balance is matched with the sub ledger balance for the matching purpose. The subsidiary ledger balance is compared with its controlling account balance as part of the process of preparing a trial balance.
