Distinguished Faculty, 2007 AERA/UCEA David L. Clark National Graduate Student Research Seminar in Educational Administration & Policy. Was invited by AERA Division A Vice President to work with advanced doctoral students in administration and policy fields during a 2-day workshop. Approximately 40 doctoral students drawn from a national applicant pool are chosen annually to participate in the seminar. Prior to the seminar, faculty participate in screening applications for the seminar and in preparing for work with assigned fellows.

Have worked with Susan Colorado-Burt, a doctoral students in ELPS, on requirements for academic scholarship and publication. As part of this process, I regularly involved her in the editorial review process of QSE, which allowed her to participate in discussions and deliberations about requirements for scholarship and research. While I served as North American Regional Editor, Susan served as a student member of my review team.

Have been mentoring Juanita Gamez Vargas, former doctoral advisee at TAMU and new Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma. Supervised her professional development during 2003-2005. Student’s activities include making presentations in organized classes, conducting literature and other searches for research and publication, and other activities designed to further her development. Co-presented and co-authored conference papers with Vargas.
