General Terms & Conditions

A. Quotations 1) Prices quoted are good for 60 days after the date stated on the quotation. Aldora reserves the right to adjust pricing after the expiration of the 60 days. 2) Aldora reserves the right to adjust pricing due to errors and/or omissions in items quoted. 3) Quotes are generally for materials and/or assembly only. Aldora is not obligated to supply structural steel, engineering, shop drawings, unless otherwise stated on the quote. 4) Aldora may be asked to do ‘take-offs’ from customer plans in order to provide a quotation for a job. Aldora accepts no responsibility as to the completeness or accuracy of a quotation generated from these ‘take-offs.’ It is the responsibility of the customer to review and approve quotations generated from ‘take-offs’. 5) Aldora does not warrant that quotations will meet all field conditions. It is the responsibility of the customer to insure that products offered will meet their customer’s specifications, including but not limited to; type of closer, wind load requirements, water infiltration requirements, ADA requirements, acoustic and solar values, etc.

B. Orders 1) Minimum Order - $25.00 Product

2) Aldora requires that customers sign their final quotation before it becomes an order. Signatures indicate that the customer has accepted the elevations and dimensions as stated in the quote. 3) Delivery date estimates may be provided to the customer but are in no way a guarantee that deliveries will be made on that date. 4) Lead times for projects involving 3rd party services such as aluminum bending, painting, etc. are beyond the control of Aldora and only estimated delivery dates can be provided.

C. Delivery 1) It is the customer’s responsibility to inspect all items upon delivery. Aldora will not accept responsibility for scratches, breakage or any other damage that occurs to products on the job site after delivery. 2) The customer’s signature or signature of an agent of the customer on the packing list signifies the acceptance of the product by the customer. 3) Failure to accept delivery of an order or an order put on hold after fabrication will result in an added delivery charge or storage fee to the customer.

D. Glass Drop Offs 1) Customers must provide advance notice to Aldora when intending to drop off glass to fabricated or laminated. 2) Aldora does not accept responsibility for customer glass broken during the tempering or laminating process. E. Job Site

1) Aldora is not responsible for items damaged or stolen while at the job site. 2) Aldora is not liable for any back charges passed on to the customer by the contractor.

F. Aluminum Installation 1) Installation is the responsibility of the glazier. 2) Aldora will provide support to glaziers regarding the proper installation of Aldora’s products when requested. 3) It is the responsibility of the glazier to understand the proper installation method for Aldora products and to adhere to the specifications as indicated in the Dade County product approval (NOA) and/or Aldora’s installation instructions. 4) The installer must apply caulking in all joints as required by product specifications. Pre-fabricated and pre-glazed units must be inspected and resealed if necessary in the event that seals have been omitted or damaged in transport.

G. Payment 1) Terms are to be agreed upon before the commencement of the project. If terms are not negotiated in advance, then terms are assumed to be 50% deposit when order is placed and 50% upon delivery. 2) The billing date is considered the date that materials are delivered. Large projects may have multiple bills based on partial deliveries throughout the project. 3) Payment terms supersede draw schedules supplied by the General Contractor. 4) Aldora reserves the right to charge interest for late payments. Interest is to be calculated at 1 1/2% or the maximum percentage allowable by law. 5) Aldora will file liens on properties where payment efforts have not been made. 6) No warranty will be issued for a project until final payment has been cleared.

G. Credits

1) Credits may be issued to a customer at the discretion of Aldora. 2) Credits will be applied against subsequent orders.

H. Tax Exempt Certificates 1) All customers must be charged state sales tax unless a Tax Exempt Certificate is on file at Aldora. 2) It is the responsibility of the customer to provide a Tax Exempt Certificate prior to any billing taking place. Taxes charged will be the responsibility of the customer to pay if a Certificate is not provided regardless of the customer’s tax exempt status.

I. Cancellations and Returns 1) Orders initiated with 3rd party products (special paint, bending, special glass, etc.) may not be cancelable unless

allowed by 3rd party vendor. Any charges to Aldora in this regard will become the obligation of the customer. 2) Orders initiated in Aldora’s facility may be cancelable at Aldora’s discretion. However, charges for work in

progress and/or re-stocking fees may be applied. 3) Orders canceled will be subject to a re-stocking fee. 4) Product returns are subject to the condition of the product. Custom size products are not returnable.

J. Cut/Fabricated Glass 1) Cut glass is produced to ASTM tolerances including width and height variations. Please see ASTM standards for

Flat Glass, Section 6, Table 1. 2) All fabrication is subject to acceptable tolerances as specified by ASTM for fabricated glass.

k. Laminated Glass 1) Customer understands proper handling of laminated glass or will talk to a representative of Aldora. 2) Customer will not use harsh cleaning chemicals when cleaning laminated glass 3) Aldora assumes no responsibility for the final use of the product or compatibility of materials used. 4) Customer will instruct its customer’s on proper cleaning of laminated glass (GANA) 5) Customer will use proper sealants when applying to laminated glass (approved only) 6) Laminated glass can only be used in systems with a proper weather seal 7) Aldora is not responsible for laminated glass that reacts adversely to installation in a long term, unconditioned

vacant space l. Exports

1) Container arrangements are by the customer. 2) Payment is required prior to release of the container 3) Goods damaged in transit are not the responsibility of Aldora. Items should be insured for shipping. 4) Aldora does not warranty items for export but it may, at its discretion, offer replacement items.

Glass Glass should always be cleaned regularly with mild soap and water. Never use razor blades or abrasive cleaners as it can damage the surface of the glass. Should your purchase include Hurricane Resistant or Blast Resistant glass, it will feature a laminate between two pieces of glass. The laminate is susceptible to harmful vapors and can de-laminate if exposed to harsh cleaning products. In that regard, the glass should only be cleaned with a mild non-abrasive glass cleaner or mild soap and water. The cleaner should be wiped off immediately with a squeegee. Do not allow cleaning agents to collect in the glazing pocket. Cleaning should not be done in direct sunlight. Razor blades or other metallic cleaning tools should never be used on glass. Should your glass composition include a coated performance glass, take particular care to not allow any metal surface to come into contact with the coating. A scratch in the coating will affect not only visibility but the performance of the glass. Aluminum Finish The finish provided with your Aldora product is also vulnerable to harsh cleaning agents. Only clean with mild detergents and do not let residue sit on the product. Avoid cleaning when surface is hot from direct sunlight. Remove any material from the surface as soon as possible. Mortar, exterior paints, spackles, landscaping materials, or other products can permanently damage the aluminum finish. Hardware Proper function of the latch mechanism and hinges require periodic lubrication. For best results, we recommend white lithium grease. This should be applied to moving parts every 6 months or every 3 months for coastal applications. Do not use spray on oils (WD-40) as they can “gum up” and leave a sticky residue that attracts dirt. Door Gaskets Door gaskets provide a seal against the elements. Should a gasket get torn or damaged it should be replaced. Gaskets are also vulnerable to harsh cleaning agents and may become brittle or cracked, limiting their effectiveness. Use only mild, non-abrasive cleaning agents around the gasket and remove any excess immediately after cleaning. Sealants Sealants are under a constant barrage of sun, weather, sprinklers, etc. and are subject to breakdown over time. Sealants should be checked every 6 months to insure the watertight properties of your Aldora product.

Threshold Pin Strike The Aldora threshold is drilled to allow the pin strike to penetrate during the engagement of the locking mechanism. The drilled hole must be kept free of debris in order to allow operation of the pin strike. If the thumbturn does not engage the lock, check the pin strike hole for debris. Do not force the thumbturn as doing so can damage the locking mechanism.

Post Tropical Storm Inspection Your Aldora product is designed to withstand the maximum pressures as stated in the product approval (NOA). However, the pressures exerted on the window or door for the duration of a tropical storm can compromise the integrity of joint fasteners and sealants. It is highly recommend that all products are inspected for sealant or joint damage after a storm. Aldora can recommend a glazing professional (installer) to assist in the inspection and re-seal where necessary. Documentation of post-storm inspections is required for subsequent warranty requests.
