Scheduling
• Courses meet either 1, 2, or 3 times a week– MWF: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (55 min)– TR: Tuesday, Thursday or MW: Monday, Wednesday (1 hr 25 min)– Or one night a week (3 hrs)– Avoid a two day a week schedule
• Full Time vs. Part Time– Full time is 12-18 credit hours of class: This means 4 to 5 classes– Part time is anything below 12 hours– Most of you must be enrolled full time during fall and spring
POP QUIZ
Most of you need 120 credit hours of class to graduate from MTSU.
If you take classes only during the fall and spring semesters, how many credit hours do you have
to take each semester to finish in 4 years?
15 to Finish
A minimum of 15 credit hours
Sciences• Pick out your Science course first and build your schedule around it• All Natural Sciences and HLTH 1530/1531 in Social/Behavioral Science include a Lab• You must register for the course and the lab at the same time• You must enter the 5 digit CRN for both the lecture and the lab at the same time• The 1030/31 Natural Sciences courses are designed for non-science majors
Raider Learning Communities
Look for “B” or “L” in the Section NumberThese courses are linked together and share a common cohort of students. Each
community is made up of the same people so you will get to know your classmates well.
Scheduling
Setting Yourself Up for Success
• If you like smaller classes with lots of interaction– Pick a honors course (H in section number)
• If you can’t get out of bed in the morning– Don’t schedule an 8:00 AM class (we also have a 6:50 AM)
• If you need consistent feedback from your instructors– Don’t pick an online class (D or R in the section number)
