Career Profile .

Royal Air Force Mechanical Engineering Technician.2007 - Present.

Served in various theatres around the world including Europe, North America and the Middle East, receiving a campaign medal for serving during Afghanistan. Worked mainly as a Self-Supervising Mechanical Engineer in the fields of hydraulic, mechanical, propulsion and environmental control systems. During this time, activities have included:

In-depth scheduled servicing of Tornado aircraft involving major maintenance tasks for example wing and fin removal. Each servicing lasting from two weeks to twelve months.

Fault diagnosis, rectification and operation of aircraft systems. Set up and operation of many varied types of ground support and test equipment to

functionally test components and aircraft systems. Complete modifications using hand and power tools to the required blueprint/design

specification. Carry out various infrequent technical assignments such as the removal, fitment and

examination of numerous hydraulic, propulsion and environmental control components, complying with complicated maintenance procedures.

Supervising junior personnel and leading teams of technicians on rectification assignments, ensuring Health and Safety guidelines are followed and maintaining the high standards required.

Controlling teams of up 15 engineers prioritising and organising maintenance of aircraft for time critical Close Air Support missions. Ensuring aircraft were ready for operational missions and any faults were dealt with in a timely fashion.
