It’s dicult to summarize one year at Second Helpings because so many amazing things happen each and every day.

Each day, dozens of volunteers gather in our building to do the work it takes to rescue food and prepare meals for families and children who might otherwise go without hot, nutritious meals. Each meal prepared contains more than the ingredients for good nutrition. Every meal is made and delivered with care and compassion for our community. is year, more than 955,000 lovingly prepared meals fed children in after-school programs, families in shelters and seniors at community centers who need hearty meals to keep them active.

Each day, food donors open their doors to Second Helpings’ trucks and give thousands of pounds of fresh, frozen, and prepared foods that might otherwise go to waste. is year, Second Helpings marked a new milestone by rescuing more food than ever—2.35 million pounds.

Each day, adults in the Culinary Job Training program learn a new skill that will help them build a meaningful career in the culinary eld. Students graduate from the Culinary Job Training program each year with a fresh, hopeful look at a new future. A graduate’s success is a shining moment for Second Helpings. We celebrate their accomplishments and enjoy knowing they are growing new careers that will support their families.

e past year is the sum of many amazing things that happen each day. ank you for each and every amazing thing you do for Second Helpings and its work to alleviate hunger and poverty in Central Indiana.
