I. COMMON ERRORS REGARDING BAPTISM AMONG MODERN-DAY DENOMINATIONS

Sprinkling or pouring as baptism, Jno. 3:23; Acts 8:38; Rom. 6:4

Infant baptism, Mk. 16:16; Acts 2:38

“Baptism is an outward sign of an inward salvation.” Mk. 16:16; Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Pet. 3:21

  Most denominations do not baptize by the authority of Christ, Matt. 28:18,19; Acts 2:38

One is saved after being baptized. The saved are in the N.T. Church, Eph. 5:23

One is made a disciple, a Christian by baptism. But disciples, Christians made up the N.T. church, Acts 11:26

III. BAPTISM OF THE GREAT COMMISSION AND THE CHURCH OF THE NEW TESTAMENT

A person should be baptized to enter God's family (Gal. 3:26,27); the N.T. church is the "house" (family) of God, 1 Tim. 3:15.

  A person is baptized in harmony with the teaching of the N.T. was in the kingdom and in the N.T. church, Matt. 16:18-19; Heb. 12:22-23, 28; Col. 1:13

 The people baptized in Acts 2 formed a church in Jerusalem, 2:47; 8:1
