2300 Ellesmere Road, Scarborough, Ontario, M1G 3M7 Dear Parent/Guardian, A warm welcome back from St. Thomas More Catholic School to those families returning and an especially warm welcome to any new members of our community. As we begin the new school year, the TCDSB will embark on its new three-year pastoral plan – Rooted in Christ: we Belong, we Believe, we Become. This year, we embrace and celebrate Belonging: including and acceptance of each and every student and their families within our Catholic community. Our com- mon belief brings us together as one family. Catholic schools are built on the relationships between our families, our parishes, our staff and our students. We cele- brated these communities in our previous pastoral plan, and will continue to nurture their close ties in this new pastoral plan. As I always say, September brings with it the opportunity for new beginnings and as I enter my fifth year with the St. Thomas More community, I recognise how far we have come and also what goals we have for the future. Our virtue of the month for September is Hospitalityand in this spirit we celebrate our ability to welcome others to our school in the same way that God welcomes us to His table. A big thank you to our teachers, secretary and custodians who have prepared the school so well. I look forward to another great year filled with learning and fun. All the best, D. The virtue of the month for September is “Hospitality”...Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, that you do unto me. Matthew 25:40

Please be aware that when we drop off our children at school, the safety of everyone is paramount.

With this in mind, please remember that parents must not wait in the School Bus Loading Zone at any time.

The staff on duty are there to support student safety at drop off and dismissal time and I would ask that every-

one follows their direction respectfully.

Parents/Guardians, please drop off students in the big yard. Supervision begins at 8:10 and in order to ensure staff can identify each adult on the yard, we would ask that parents not remain there after 8:10.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school @ (416) 393 5322.
