Future Ready Youth: Preparing students for citizenship, career and continuing education

WHY:

Helping our students define their clarity of “WHY” they are going to school can be difficult for some students. If we systematically assist students in clarifying “WHY” they are getting an education, we can “Empower” them to make choices aligned with their future beyond high school.

PSD provides the How through ICAP, Career Prep in Classes, Career Awareness through job shadows, Career Exploration in an Internship and Career Training on the job experiences. We also provide the how through taking classes on our campuses or on our postsecondary campuses.

What we do to support empowering students is in the outer circle…

Career and Academic Training (apprenticeships)

A lot of different opportunities for what students can do after HS. A lot of different pathways.

ICAP Quality Indicators and District Ends:

Students can earn an AA degree before leaving HS. Some earn Industrial Certificates.
