Indian Railways develops Art Gallery with Souvenir shop at Kevadiya

• Now, tourists visiting "Statue of Unity" can

experience the rich cultural history of

Gujarat at Kevadiya station itself.

• Adding one more tourist attraction near

"Statue of Unity", Vadodara Division,

Western Railway has awarded first of its

kind contract in Indian Railways for

development of Art Gallery with Souvenir

shop at Kevadiya Railway station under PPP

initiative.

• Drawing on the benefits of PPP model, the Art Gallery will showcase different Art & Craft forms of Gujarat

and India and will be developed and operated by private party

Kalij Pheasant Declared as Bird of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir

• Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment

issued the order declaring the Kalij Pheasant, also known

as ‘Lophura Leucomelanos’, as the bird of the Union

Territory of Jammu & Kashmir

• Before the bifurcation of the State, the State of J&K

had Black-necked Crane as State Bird and Kashmir Stag

(Hangul) as State Animal.

Incentives announced for Cashless Transaction on eChhawani Portal

of Cantonment Board to promote digital economy

• With a view to promote digital and cashless payment of charges / fees for services on eChhawani Portal, Cantonments Boards have taken a lead in providing financial incentives for online payments of non-tax charges and fees. The financial incentives are being provided for Community Hall Booking, Water Tanker Booking, Water and Sewerage Connection, grant of Trade License and 78 other services

under Miscellaneous Collection. The residents utilizing these services on eChhawani Portal and making payments in digital and cashless mode will be getting up to 2% rebate on non-tax charges and fees.

• To enhance ease of living for cantonment residents, various citizen centric services are now available live on unified eChhawani portal. These services include grant of Trade licences, renewal of leases, water and sewerage connections, Community Hall Booking, Water Tanker Booking, Births and Deaths certificates, OPD appointments in cantonment hospitals, online deposit of taxes and fees and lodging grievances for quick and timely redressal

• eChhawani is a citizen centric project of Directorate General of Defence Estates, Ministry of Defence. Under this initiative, Cantonment Boards provide online citizen services to more than 20 lakh residents across 62 Cantonments in the country through unified eChhawani Portal.

‘Dairy Sahakar’ Scheme launched at Anand, Gujarat

• Union Minister Amit Anil Chandra Shah, Ministry of

Home Affairs launched the Dairy Sahakar scheme at

Anand, Gujarat during the function organised by AMUL

(Anand Milk Union Limited) for the celebration of its 75th

foundation year.

• With an outlay of Rs 5000 crore, it will be

implemented by National Cooperative Development

Corporation (NCDC), under the Ministry of Cooperation.

• Under the scheme NCDC will provide financial support to the eligible cooperatives for activities such as

bovine development, milk procurement, processing, quality assurance, value addition, branding,

packaging, marketing, transportation and storage of milk and milk products, exports of dairy products.

Gujarat Launches ‘e-Sarkar app’ for Paperless Administration

• Gujarat government launched the ‘e-Sarkar’ app on a pilot basis to make administrative works paperless, quick and easy for citizens.

• The e-Sarkar app was formed by combining the latest technology along with the existing IWDMS (Integrated Workflow and Document Management System) app, which was launched by the Gujarat government in 2005 for

• Haryana has launched the ‘Uttam Beej portal’ which

will benefit the farmers of Haryana by providing quality seeds with transparency.

‘National Tribal Dance Festival 2021’ held in Raipur

• The state of Chattisgarh observed a 3-days

annual 2nd National Tribal Dance Festival 2021.

• This year’s event was clubbed with Chattisgarh’s Rajyotsava (state foundation day- November 1, 2021).

• National teams competed for the top three positions with prizes worth Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh, respectively. The competition was in two categories viz. wedding dance and a traditional dance on the theme of harvesting or agriculture.

• Team Jharkhand won in both categories, winning cash prizes totaling Rs 10 lakh.

• Team Odisha was the runner-up in both categories,

• Team Assam stood third in the wedding dance category and Team Chhattisgarh won the third position in

the traditional dance category.

• The festival also featured performers from seven foreign countries viz. Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Mali, Sri Lanka, the Kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland), Palestine and Uganda.

Ujjivan Financial Services’ Board approved its amalgamation with USFB

• The board of Ujjivan Financial Services has approved the amalgamation of the company with its subsidiary, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank

• Ujjivan Financial Services is the holding company and promoter of Ujjivan SFB.

• It currently holds 83.32% of the equity shareholding and 100% of preference shareholding of Ujjivan SFB.

• After this amalgamation, shareholding of public shareholders of Ujjivan SFB will increase from 68% to 100%.

• As per the minimum shareholding norms, the promoter’s minimum initial contribution in the SFB arm should be at least 40%. If the promoter’s initial shareholding in the SFB is in excess of 40%, then it is to be brought down to 40% within a period of five years from the date of commencement of operations of SFB.

• Now, this period of five years is expiring on January 31, 2022 for Ujjivan SFB.

• Ujjivan SFB would issue and allot to the shareholders of Ujjivan Financial Services 115 equity shares of the bank for every 10 equity shares of Ujjivan.
