India ranks 40 out of 53 countries on global Intellectual Property index

िैवश्वक बौखिक संपदा सूचकांक में 53 देशों में से 40 में भारत का स्थान पर रहा

International Intellectual Property (IP)

Index, which analyses the IP climate in

53 global economies.

• Last year India was ranked at 36th

position out of 50 countries.

• The US, the UK, Sweden, France and

Germany remained the top five

economies on the intellectual property

index in 2019 retaining their spots from

the last year.

• अंतरातष्ट्र ीय बौखिक संपदा (आईपी) सूचकांक

पर भारत 40 िें स्थान पर विसल गया, जो

53 िैवश्वक अथतव्यिस्थाओं में आईपी जलिायु

का विशे्लषण करती है।

• वपछले साल भारत 50 देशों में से 36 िें स्थान

competition was held off Gir Somnath coast of

Gujarat.

● Monika had won this competition on two

previous occasions also.

● She completed 16 nautical mile distance in

4.39.02 hours, while Rutvik completed 16

nautical mile distance in 7.04.38 hours.

SAI, Hockey India launch High Performance Centres

SAI, हॉकी इंवडया ने उच्च प्रदशतन कें द्र लॉन्च वकए- India Today

● Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Hockey India

announced the establishment of the High

Performance Centres in seven places across the

country to provide state-of-the-art facilities to

Junior and Sub-Junior players.

● The move is aimed at grooming young talent in

view of 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games.

● While the National Hockey Academy at Dhyan

Chand National Stadium, New Delhi along with

SAI at Sundergarh, Bhopal and Bengaluru will be

active within the next three months.

● The remaining three centres will be developed

over the next one year.

● These seven centres will be set up under the

Khelo India scheme and will have expert

professional training, utilization of sports science

and education of the youngsters.

● The SAI Centre Bengaluru will remain as the

main site for the senior and junior national teams.

leaving the institution.

● She will step down from her post on March 1

to return to teaching at Yale University.

● Research director Aart Kraay would take over

for Goldberg until a new permanent chief

economist is hired.

● A Greek-American national, Goldberg took up

her post at the end of April 2018, after the

resignation of Paul Romer following a

controversy over the World Bank's statistical

methods.

Prince Charles unveils children's protection fund for India

● Britain's Prince Charles has unveiled a new

children's protection fund for India as part of

British Asian Trust, the charity founded by him

in 2007 to fight poverty in South Asia.

● Popular American singer Katy Perry will be

the ambassador of the new fund, which will be

focussed on reducing the exploitation of

children by 50 per cent in India over 10 years.

● Indian philanthropist Natasha Poonawalla has

made a multimillion-pound pledge in support

of the fund.

● The main areas of focus for the British Asian

Trust's Children's Protection Fund will cover

child sexual abuse, child labour and

trafficking, and its aim would be to develop

school safety nets through child-friendly

village models.
