Polypropylene has become cheaper in Asia for another $ 20Fri June 11, 2010 | Topic: Prices

The cost of high-density polyethylene (HDPE)continued this week, its fall. From 7 June polymer has become cheaper in the Asian market for another $ 5 per ton. Demand for HDPE in the region and especially in China continues to be low. Buyers do not want to buy the material, preferring to wait for further price reductions.

Falling prices for high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE)was observed in the week. Suggestions from Asian manufacturers have been reduced by the weakening of consumer demand. Prices on the polymer decreased by $ 30.

Linear Polyethylene in Asia (LPEVD) continued to decline in price. The fall of the price level of seven days was $ 30. Demand for thermoplastic continues to be low, as both distributors and refiners are hesitant to make deals, despite the large decline in prices.

Despite the rising cost of propylene, Asian polypropylene (PP) has fallen in price by 20 dollars. Consumption of the polymer continues to remain at low levels. Buyers are not sure of the future direction of the market, preferring to wait and watch for further events.

Prices of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), under the pressure of weak demand from refiners in the region, during the week fell to $ 20. The cost of the polymer continues to be bearish in nature. Sellers forced to accept further discounts for deals, because a lot of competitiveness of U.S. commodities currently offered in the region at low prices.

Though the price of styrene monomer in Asia have gone up, the cost of general-purpose polystyrene (PS) decreased. Last week, polymer prices have fallen by $ 30. The main reason for the decline was a low consumer demand.
