Cooking Under Pressure
• A Cooking under Pressure workshop will be held on Thursday, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Parker County Extension Office in Weatherford, located at 604 N. Main St. in Weatherford.
• The cost to attend the class is $30. Learn how to make delicious hot meals, fast and easy.
• Registration is required to attend the class. Participants will get hands on experi-ence making several recipes and tasting the end products.

eight seats are $300. Individual tickets are $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers.
Women’s and Newcomers Club
• The Parker County Women’s and Newcomers Club meets at the First United Methodist Church, Family Life Center, 301 S Main Street in Weatherford. We meet on the second Friday of every month, except March.
• The social hour, including our club shop, begins at 9:30 a.m. The Club Shop has jewelry, purses, scarves, and lots more.
• The busi-ness meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. The buf-fet lunch starts at noon and costs $11.
• Please make lun-cheon reservations by calling Shirley (817-757-7379) or Lois (817-946-1930) by Friday, one week before the sec-ond Friday’s meeting.
• During our February meeting, the club activities will be presented. The Ukaladies will enter-tain with love songs in honor of Valentines Day.

off dogs looking for new families at the Weatherford PetSmart, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Weatherford PetSmart, 138 I-20, Weatherford.
• Come meet our adoptable dogs and visit with our volunteers. Cats are at PetSmart 7 days a week; you can visit them in the Cat Adoption Center.
• A meet and greet is available with adoption application.

Two-vehicle wreck sends one to hospital
A two-vehicle wreck that occurred at the inter-section of Palo Pinto Street and South Lamar Street Wednesday after-noon resulted in one being transported to a Fort Worth hospital, according to the Weatherford Police Department.
“It appears that one vehicle — a Honda pas-senger car — was west-bound in the 400 block of Palo Pinto and turning left onto the 100 [block] of South Lamar and the other vehicle [a truck] was traveling East on Palo Pinto and they were right there at the [intersection] light,” WPD Sgt. Jason Hayes said. “So the pas-senger car turned in front
of the truck and the truck struck the passenger car as it turned to the left and pushed it into the [tele-phone] poll.”
The individual driv-ing the passenger car was transported to Fort Worth.
Hayes said there won’t be any criminal charges as a result of the accident and they do not know the extent of the individual’s injuries.
“If it would have been something that we thought might have caused a fatality, we would have been out there with our advanced accident team,” Hayes said. “It’s one of those situations where they took the individual to Fort Worth as a pre-caution because they have trauma centers over there.”
