The Society has run short and doesn't have enough of the June 1983 issue of the quarterly to make complete sets for 1983. If you don't need your June 1983 issue would you please send ft to the P. 0. Box?

Also, don't forget to send a query to be published in the quarterly. Our editor, Marjorie Radley, can also use short articles of Texas interest.

The Search Fee at the North Carolina Archives has gone up to $5.00. Any letter to them asking for a copy of a record or other information must be accompanied by a $5.00 check. You are billed separately for copies. - -

The Virginia State Library doesn't charge a search fee. But, only two items can be ordered at one time (such as two deeds or two wills). After about seven weeks you receive an order form listing your items and 1then you return the order form with your check. After returning the form ft takes

. another six weeks to get your copies. Even though you are limited to two items their mimfmum charge for the copies Is $5.00 and every order is charged an additional $3.00 handling fee. So, no order of- two items can cost less then $8.00 or take less than thirteen weeks from the time of your original request for copies .

BUYER BEWARE

Attention!!! Beatrice Bailey (who is really Kurt J. Schrefder of Sterling, Pa.) is now advertising in the Plus SO's magazine. Halberts of Bath, Ohio, once known for mass producing coats of arms misrepresented as "Family Arms." Jack Evans of New Castle, OE, is trying his hand at ft for $27.85 a shot.
