International choreographic contest Dance Festival in Catalonia is a tension and rejoicing, triumph and tears of happiness, dizziness from success and immersion in a grand atmosphere of an international festival; feelings that thousands of motivated performers experience in one of the most prestigious choreographic contests in Europe organized by a Spanish festival committee Fiestalonia Milenio. Taking part in this contest all the participants go through lots of unforgettable moments as it’s a meeting of different creative tendencies and schools!

Information about the hotel

Don Juan is one of the biggest hotels in Lloret de Mar. It’s situated in the centre of the town on one of the busiest touristic streets in 200 metres from the beach.

The rooms in this hotel are designed in a strict style with a simple décor. There’s everything necessary in them for a comfortable stay. The hotel staff speaks several languages, among them Russian, English, French and German that makes it easier to hold a communication

with the visitors.

The territory of the hotel is adorned with botanical gardens. The guests are offered a vide choice of entertainment. There are three pools (one covered and two open air), nearly located bars, parks, tennis courts, zones for playing ping-pong, bi l l iards,

videogames; video salons, night clubs, shops, beauty salons, different entertaining programs and live music.

Also in 50 metres from the hotel there’s a bus station from which you can go to other areas of Lloret de Mar and nearby cities like Barcelona, Girona, Tossa de Mar, Blanes.

Meals in the hotel include full board with the Mediterranean accents. For lunch and dinner there are usually served typical Spanish dishes like paella, tortilla, various soups, fish and seafood. Splendid Spanish dishes are accompanied with a great wine. Don Juan is considered a holder of the most delicious and various cuisine of the highest quality among all the three star hotels of the town.

How is the International Dance Contest in Catalonia held? A day before the contest the team of Fiestalonia gets acquainted with the choreographers and team leaders of all the dance teams which have come to the festival. On the meeting they discuss the questions connected to the contest and the participants’ stay during the whole festival’s period in Spain.The participants get acquainted with the representatives of all the departments of

Fiestalonia as they are those who directly organize this large and fabulous event.In the evening of the same day all the participants are invited to a special discotheque where they can get acquainted to each other and our deejays will charge them with positive emotions and great spirits before the upcoming contest! Performers from Argentina, Spain, Andorra and Brazil hold short master-classes of the basic movements of the Latin American dances.

The basis of the events held by Fiestalonia is a friendly atmosphere during the whole festival. Owing to this participants from various countries become a big creative family supporting each other even when they are competing!

Competitive day The most important day of the festival is the day of performances.International Dance Festival in Catalonia in the kingdom of Spain is a cultural event representing work of choreographic groups from all over the world. The main aim of the festival is the demonstration of art to the viewers and the experience inter-exchange among the leaders of the dance groups and the participants.

A competitive day is always full of emotions from tension to rejoicing but also it’s a possibility to make a brilliant display of their talents!

The most impressive shows and performers have a possibility to perform on the final gala concert in front of the numerous public. It’s an unbelievable show not only for each participant, but also for the viewers. Fiestalonia makes lots of efforts into the organization of the events of this level.

The award ceremony is an explosion of mixed emotions. Strain, intrigue, tears of happiness, festive atmosphere and the moment of announcement of the prize got by a group is the most unforgettable and incredible moment for every newcomer and an established performer. The final part of the contest is thought to the details. Participants get official awards from Fiestalonia Milenio, and apart from that

choreographers, sponsors and group leaders get certificates and gratitude letters. Besides the participants there perform famous dancers who make this festival even more creative and vivid! Invited celebrities give out autograph and their music CDs.

The providers of the contest are: a festival competitive organization Fiestalonia Milenio (Spain), production center Fiestalonia International (Great Britain), the town hall of Lloret de Mar, the ministry of tourism of Catalonia, GCCB (Grand Casino Costa Brava), the charity fund Fundación SOS, the European folklore society, the association of jazz modern dancers, the supporting fund of classic ballet, the clothes for the presenters are granted by the official s p o n s o r s Dolce&Gabbana.

The idea of the festival g i v e s a g r e a t possibility to perform on the contest showing your talent,

exchanging experiences with other participants, visiting excursions, the most famous places of interest and getting to know the country and feeling the atmosphere of this international feast, attending master classes of the leading men of art and judges, participating in joint performances, flash mobs, quizzes and discotheques for the participants.

JuryAll the participants of the contest get an independent and professional evaluation of the international judges who work according to an accurately considered valuation system which has been developed by leading European teachers and performers of a world’s scale for many years and which guarantees the highest quality of judging. Each participant of the dance contest will get a numbered nominal certificate registered in a Spanish mission and the group’s leaders get certificates from the Dance Council UNESCO. Also for the groups there are provided official awards from the city hall of the place where the contest is held.

Master class

Dur ing the fes t iva l famous choreographers hold master classes a n d p r e p a r e o u r p e r f o r m e r s f o r part ic ipat ing in the biggest flash mob which i s o r g a n i z e d b y F ies ta lon ia on the square in front of the town hall. Master

classes are held by famous choreographers among which there’s a record holder of the Guinness book of records, founders of individual tendencies, universally recognized teachers and maters of choreographic art. Each year there’s held a thematic master class of one of the tendencies: folk choreography, ballroom dancing, classic ballet, jazz modern, flamenco and salsa.

FlashmobIn the afternoon in front of the town hall there gather all the participants of the choreographic festival, Fiestalonia Milenio team, audio engineers, professional video operators and photographers. Thousands of people from different countries with flags of Fiestalonia on the square in front of

the town hall participate in the biggest flash mob on the coast. This event gathers an incredible quantity of spectators who can’t even fit on the square and have to watch the event from the opposite side of the street.

Costa Brava Costa Brava is a northwestern part of the Catalonian coast in the province of Gerona near the border with France. This is one of the most picturesque corners of the Mediterranean coast uniting great beach resorts and the zones for active recreation and tourism.

There are inaccessible cliffs and emerald ridges of the Pyrenees overgrown with pines and firs among which you can see picturesque bays, coves with beaches with white sand and pebbles near the azure sea waves. The nature endowed these places so generously, that the land of Costa Brava was inhabited by people since the most ancient civilizations – Iberians, ancient Greeks and Romans.

Lloret de Mar Lloret de Mar is the center of the touristic Costa Brava and the main party place of the Mediterranean coast where young people from all over the world come every year. It attracts with lots of bars, discotheques and night clubs with dance programs and laser shows, but it’s not limited just by these things. Lloret de Mar has a thousand year history being converted from a small fishing village into one of the most famous touristic centres in Europe and the most elegant town on the Spanish coast. Advantageous location Lloret de Mar on the south of Costa Brava 75 km from Barcelona, 30 km from Girona and 100 km from France make it a popular recreation place for thousands of tourists from all over the world. Buying a flight you can choose one of three international airports in Catalonia: in Reus, Girona and Barcelona.

Besides the specially equipped grounds for playing volleyball and football there’s a possibility for tourists to try themselves in navigating sailing vessels, diving, snorkeling. Equipment for each you can find in the renting spots. You can also try water skiing and catamaran and watch really nice coastal areas of Lloret de Mar while having a launch trip.Some bars, discotheques and night clubs like teenager’s “Moby’s”, glamorous “Hollywood” don’t close till the dawn.
