The unseen advantage “Dynet”• Dedicated lighting control protocol.• Bring all the different components
together to form a system solution.• Capable of system wide changes
with single network command.• Uses industry standard RS485• Published / Open protocol.• All Philips devices use Dynet for
communication. • Every device stores its own setting
making them all intelligent.

• Digital Addressable Lighting Interface
• A protocol set out in the technical standard IEC 62386.
• DALI is a communication protocol dedicated for lighting control
• DALI allows for communication individual light fixtures
• DALI is not owned by a single lamp or control system manufacture
• DALI-AG is a working group set up by leading manufacturers and institutions in the field of digital lamp/luminaire control to promote DALI technology and applications.

DALI – Power Consumption• DALI ballasts/transformers consume
power to operate even when their fitting is off.
• Approx. 0.5 to 2 watt per ballast
(up to 2% of operation power per luminaire)
• This power consumption never stops even when the lights are off.

DALI broadcasting
• Every area can be dimmed• Each lighting group
requires its own individual cable run.
• All user interfaces require separate network run.
Total of 8 different cable runs are required for system.
35
DALI Addressing
• Every area can be dimmed• DALI can address each
group of lights individually. • All user interfaces require
separate network run.
Total of 2 different cable runs are required for system.
36
DALI-Multi Master
• Every area can be dimmed• DALI can address each
group of lights individually. • All user interfaces use
same network as the light fittings
Only one cable run required for the entier system.
