Career Objective

After 10+ years of academic experience, I am looking to expand my work experience with the private sector. I am willing to relocate and start as an entry level with the trust of acquiring relevant skills relatively quick.

Summary of skills and abilities

-highly motivated and qualified with 10 years of experience and excellent judgement-ability to multi-task, prioritise and work well under pressure, with minimal or no supervision-my strengths are outstanding communication skills, both in written and verbal form, strong planning, and organisational and computer troubleshooting skills and able to learn new skills-understanding of current trends in the energy market; green technologies and fossil fuels -capable to assess and improve the efficiency of refinery complexes by improving process integration and the acquisition of new technology.

Education

Years Course University2010 - 2016 PhD in Chemical Engineering Murdoch University2008 Graduate Diploma Oil & Gas University of Western Australia2007 Master of Engineering, Energy Studies University of Melbourne2004 Master of Engineering, Eco-efficiency University of Zaragoza1997 - 2002 Bachelors of Engineering, Chemical University of Carabobo

Employment history

09/2015-10/2015, 6 weeks internshipCorrosion Engineer, Citic Pacific Mining, Australia This role involves the assessment of corrosion in the Sino Iron Ore Desalination plant in Western Australia. The methodology includes literature review about corrosion in general in Desalination plants, the Identification of corrosion mechanism through observations of the Desal plant and the development of strategies to mitigate the corrosion mechanisms identified.

Key Achievements-I participated in the making of a final report which includes the types of corrosion mechanisms identified in the Desalination Plant and what measures should to be taken to mitigate these.

04/2012-09/2015, intermittent, total 1.5 years Research Assistant, Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM), Korea I was responsible to perform research in fields related to mineral science. Amongst my main responsibilities there is the development of a research project by the following methodology: designing of experiments, data acquisition, data interpretation and publication of research in journals. In addition, a teaching component is involved by showing students how to do basic chemical experiments such as: titrations, distillation, organic reactions, wet chemistry tests, etc. Key Achievements- I achieved four publications at peer reviewed journals, with special mention to a publication done in scientific reports which is a journal that belongs to Nature.

- I assisted in increasing the network of scientists between KIGAM in Korea and CSIRO/Murdoch University in Australia.

04/2012-10/2013, intermittent, total 1.5 yearsLaboratory demonstrator, Murdoch University, Australia I demonstrated and assessed 1st year students about basic concepts of chemistry. I showed them health and safety hazards.

Remarks:I have an additional work experience in similar job positions as Research and lecturer assistant, to account for an additional work experience time of 5 years.
