DENSO®-FEU TapePetrolatum tape for sealing and corrosion protection of metallic components, pipes and fittings exposed to

continuous operating temperatures of -40 up to +70°C.

Description

Permanently plastic tape based on a

non-woven stitch-bonded PP-fleece.

The fabric is impregnated and

coated with a sealing and corrosion

protecting petrolatum compound.

Modification by polymers stabilises

the petrolatum compound and allows

operating temperatures of -40 up to

+70°C in areas where low

mechanical stresses are to be

expected. The tape is impermeable

to moisture and resistant against

aqueous solutions from electrolytes.

Use

• Corrosion protection of pipelines,

pipeline components, pipe

connections and fittings in

buildings and above-ground

installations

• Corrosion protection of structural

metallic components in buildings

and above-ground installations

• Corrosion protection of metallic

components or pipe systems

installed in concrete or floor

screed

• Galvanic separation layers of

metallic structures

• Sealing of heat insulating sheet

metal casings on cold or hot

pipelines and structural

components

• Sealing of industrial roof glazing

and green houses

Application

The surfaces to be protected or

sealed have to be thoroughly

cleaned. Carefully remove rust, dirt,

foreign matter (e.g. oil, grease, old

insulation, weld splatter), moisture

and ice from the metal surface.

Apply at least one layer of DENSO-

FEU Tape for sealing and at least

two layers for corrosion protection.

DENSO-FEU Tape must be applied

with an overlap when wrapped on a

pipe or laid flat on the substrate.

Apply the tape with even tension

when wrapping spirally or apply

pressure when applying to flat

surfaces. Smooth the tape by hand

in the overlap area.
