Introduce key words vertebrate (animal that have a backbone) and invertebrate (animal with no backbone) share the fact cards below and talk

about the information with your child. Ask your child to record some of the facts in full sentences. Remember to use the keywords in your

sentences.

Examples- A lion is a vertebrate because it has a skeleton inside its body.

Finish with a game of invertebrate or vertebrates- use the sorting cards and ask your child if they are a vertebrate (animals with a backbone)

Generally ai goes in the middle of words like train, ay goes at the end of words like stay. Read the words below and put them in the correct

We are going to start by counting in 10’s. Use your number square (see attached to plans) to help you. Start at 0 and count up to 100 in 10’s.

Ask your children what they noticed? What is at the end of every number? Discuss that there is a 0 at the end of every number.

Remember we talked yesterday about the ai, a-e and ay sounds. This is a poster to help you

remember. Yesterday we sorted some words with the ai a-e and ay sounds. Today can you use

those words to make sentences. Choose 1 or 2 words from each to write a sentence about.

Don’t forget your capital letters and full stops. For example We baked cakes together

yesterday. Can you make a sentence using all three spellings of the a sound. Tomorrow we will

have a look at the alternative spellings of the ay sound like eigh and ei . Don’t forget to

practice spelling the days of the week for your spelling bee quiz on Friday.

11.15 - 12.00 Maths: Today we are going to be counting in 5’s. Sing along with Scratch Garden and count in 5’s

a 5 or a 0.

Use your number square to help you. Start on zero and count in 5’s up to 50. If you want a challenge you can count up to 100 in 5’s using your

number square. Use the attached number square to colour in all the numbers for counting in 5’s, starting from 0.

Today we are researching reptiles. What is a reptile? Ask your child to think of examples? Please watch the video about reptiles. You can find

Here are some facts for you if you do not have access to the internet. Record some facts in full sentences

10.40-11.00 Phonics – Use the phonics mat to read out all the phase 5 phonics sounds – read them softly, read them loudly. Can you sing

We are going to continue with our ai, ay, a-e sounds. This time we are looking at the

alternative spelling which includes eigh a and ey. Read the words below, some of them you

have read before and remember that they all make the same sound although they are

spelt differently.

Do not forget to practice your spellings, how many days of the week can you do now without looking? Did you remember your capital letters?

notice? Discuss even numbers with your children and how each number will end in either a 2,4,6,8,or 0 if we start at zero or on an even

attached.

Discuss with your children what makes them equal.

Discuss with your children what is different about the pencil pots.

You could use some pencils and see if you have an equal or unequal number. Draw or make your own groups, children to make equal and unequal

groups and write a label for each.

Are Josh’s groups equal or unequal at the moment? Can you help him by making them

equal? Remind the children that they need to draw the same number of strawberries in

each box to make them equal.

Now use items at home or draw your own groups of items and complete sentences like
