We are going to start by counting in 10’s. Use your number square (see attached to plans) to help you. Start at 0 and count up to 100 in 10’s.

Ask your children what they noticed? What is at the end of every number? Discuss that there is a 0 at the end of every number.

Look at the pictures below and answer the questions. Talk about total numbers and remember we are counting in 10’s,

Remember we talked yesterday about the ai, a-e and ay sounds. This is a poster to help you

remember. Yesterday we sorted some words with the ai a-e and ay sounds. Today can you use

those words to make sentences. Choose 1 or 2 words from each to write a sentence about.

Don’t forget your capital letters and full stops. For example We baked cakes together

yesterday. Can you make a sentence using all three spellings of the a sound. Tomorrow we will

have a look at the alternative spellings of the ay sound like eigh and ei . Don’t forget to

practice spelling the days of the week for your spelling bee quiz on Friday.

We are going to continue with our ai, ay, a-e sounds. This time we are looking at the

alternative spelling which includes eigh a and ey. Read the words below, some of them you

have read before and remember that they all make the same sound although they are

spelt differently.

Discuss with your children what makes them equal.

You could use some pencils and see if you have an equal or unequal number. Draw or make your own groups, children to make equal and unequal

groups and write a label for each.
