GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSEThe Bachelor’s degree in Dance leads to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
academic degree, which is taught in German and English.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE
The aim is to train and promote creative, expressive dancers who
have mastered a wide range of classical and contemporary dance
techniques and can use their skills with confidence. Students learn
how to make a creative contribution to the design of artistic work
processes and are able to reflect on themselves and dance in
interdisciplinary, historical and social contexts. Students are encouraged
to develop a sense of social and political commitment, to participate
in groups in a self-confident and responsible manner, and to take
an active role in helping shape group processes.
Students from various countries and continents coming from
different backgrounds will be guided individually during the study and
encouraged in their artistic development.
Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree in Dance are qualified to work as
professional dancers. They have also laid solid foundations for further
training as dance teachers, choreographers, training directors and
body and movement therapists, as well as for using their knowledge
in other occupational areas.
A seven-column education model has been developed in order
to achieve the above mentioned objectives. The columns interrelate
producing an ultimately integrative education.
