Weekly Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers, We have had a wonderful week at South Rise and it has been a

lovely end to an incredible term. The KS1 concerts this week have

been fantastic and it was great to see so many of you attending

the Nursery and Reception Christmas Stay and Play sessions.

Yesterday the children said their goodbyes to Mrs Britten, who has

been working at South Rise for 34 years!! They performed a song

on the playground, ’It’s All About June’ and presented her with

flowers and cards. We are all very sad to see Mrs Britten leave but

would like to thank her for all that she has done for the children

and families of South Rise. We hope she enjoys a long and happy

retirement.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy holi-

day and if you will be celebrating Christmas—a Merry Christmas.

I would also like to wish everybody a prosperous New Year!

Millwall Football Prize Draw

Congratulations to Leila Langdon in 3JW who won

the raffle for the signed Millwall Football. We raised

£104.20 towards the Year 6 trip to Wales, thank you!

Christmas Jumper Day

Thanks to your generosity we raised an impressive

£255.57 on Christmas Jumper Day. This will be divid-

ed equally between Save the Children, Macmillan Cancer

Support and the South Rise School Fund.

Poppy Appeal

We collected £99.20 for The Royal British Legion during

this years Poppy Appeal. Thank you for your support.

Day Trip To France

Mrs Gambier will be arranging a day trip to France for a group

of KS2 children in June next year, time to get your passports!

Attendance

Very well done to 3FB and 4RG who both achieved 100%

attendance in the week ending 4th December! Whole

school attendance to 4th December was 96.6%.

Our target for attendance is 97%.

Mrs Britten

We said our

good-byes to

she retires after

working at South Rise

for 34 years!

The children sang a

lovely song which Mrs

Gambier had written

for her and she was

presented with flowers

and cards from all the

children. Mrs Mayes

made her an amazing

cake.
