MOED Teacher Leader Roles & Responsibilities 

1.1 Collaborates with individual teachers and groups through professional learning, co-planning, co-teaching and coaching to improve teaching and learning.

1.3 Facilitates teachers’ professional learning of research based instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction to address issues of diversity

1.4 Promotes teachers’ delivery and understanding of the school curriculum through collaborative long- and short-range planning and teacher coaching.

1.6 Engages in reflective dialogue with colleagues based on observation of instruction, student work, and assessment data and helps make connections to research-based effective practices.

1.7 Supports colleagues’ individual and collective reflection and professional growth by serving in roles such as a mentor, coach, and content facilitator.

Leadership vs ManagementO Leadership and management must go

hand in hand. They are not the same thing. But they are necessarily linked, and complementary. Any effort to separate the two is likely to cause more problems than it solves.
