Should you be elected, what are three specific areas you’d like to change, address, improve or further research, and how specifically would you go about it?

If re-elected, I will continue to focus on stopping wasteful government spending and shrinking our nation’s debt by getting Washington to operate on a budget, creating good jobs and strengthening our economy, and repealing ObamaCare. !One of the best ways to do that is to rebuild our country. For every $1 billion spent on infrastructure, we create or retain about 35,000 jobs. Those are jobs that can’t be outsourced to India or China. If we are going to spend our taxpayer dollars, we should be spending them on American made products. The best thing about rebuilding our infrastructure, is that it isn’t partisan - because there aren’t any Republican roads or Democrat bridges.

I’ve made cutting wasteful spending a top priority, and not just by talking about it. I actually introduced a bill that would cut $200 billion in government waste and duplicative programs. That’s just Northeast Ohio common sense. Additionally, just like I did every year when I returned money back to Geauga County, this year I returned over $100,000 of my office budget back to the U.S. Treasury.

As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I worked to help finally get Washington on a budget and reduce discretionary spending by $165 billion, the largest reductions since post WWII. Getting back to ‘regular order’ and the appropriations process is critical to getting our nation’s fiscal house in order.

I’ve worked to repeal President Obama’s healthcare law. The administration has written over 20,000 pages of regulations, raised 19 different taxes and spent 1.2 trillion and we are still going to have 31 million people in the US w/out health care insurance. Clearly ObamaCare is not working and I’m reminded by my constituents every day that Ohioans deserve easier access to better care, not lost coverage and skyrocketing health costs.

Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you?

When I was elected in 2012, I pledged that I would fight every single day in Washington for Northeast Ohio. Since then, I’ve woken up every morning remembering that promise and the people I represent in Ohio's 14th Congressional District. !That’s why I’ve fought to get Washington on a budget, repeal the affordable care act, and improve the economy so we can bring more jobs back to Northeast Ohio. We’ve accomplished a lot, but the job isn’t done yet.

I'm running because we need the American people to lead America's economic recovery, not politicians. I'm running to fight for the American dream – where if you work hard and play by the rules, you can get ahead. I'm running because we need to re-establish American economic independence. If we owe less, we own more of our own future. And when the American people are free to succeed, there’s no limit to what we can accomplish.

My wife Kelly and I have 3 kids in college, and every year we sit down to put together a budget because, like all American families, we don’t spend what we don’t have. That's not how it has always worked in our nations capital. There’s still more to do, but we’ve finally forced Washington sit down and put together its budget – and I’m proud to be a part of that solution.
