SUMMARYHello world! My name is David Woo and I am a research student in the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. I am in the information technology division of the Faculty, and am studying how pedagogical technologists influence schools’ ways of working with and through technology. Prior to this, I was a teacher. I taught English, history and computer studies in several secondary schools in Hong Kong. I also taught English for two years at the City University of Hong Kong. In several of these schools, I was also given IT coordination duties, among other ancillary duties. These days, my research interests include ecological perspectives of school change, and comparing school sectors in Hong Kong.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTSTeachingHaving taught at several Hong Kong secondary schools and one university, I have a wide range of teaching experience. I have taught English language, world history and computer studies, and in addition, I am qualified to teach primary school curriculum, and social studies. Information Technology (IT) Coordination:I was an IT coordinator at both the secondary school and the tertiary school levels in Hong Kong. My responsibilities included identifying areas where teaching and learning could be enhanced by IT, liaising with IT technicians and providers, and improving existing IT provision. I have also led several professional development workshops for colleagues and continue to develop my IT use in my teaching and research.

Social Media and Rapid e-Learning:I have a significant personal and professional online presence. I am a proficient user of social networking, video, photo, livestreaming, screencasting, micro- and macro-blogging, wiki, social bookmarking and scheduling websites, among others. I have assisted colleagues, friends and strangers in familiarizing themselves with these technologies. A sample of my work includes:

Curriculum Development and Language Across CurriculumI have developed curricula and materials whose topics and levels of difficulty are group-specific and group-appropriate with excellent reliability and superb predictive validity. These include:
