"(In this verse) The meaning of Baseerah is knowledge. The caller to Islam must be equipped with beneficial knowledge

concerning beliefs, thepermissibleandtheprohibited, and the knowledge abouttheBook and the Sunnah.Andheshould

havethe knowledge of the texts of the Qur'aan and the Sunnahsuchthathecan distinguish tothe people, what iscorrect

    andincorrect.

(the caller must be equipped with knowledge) because if he was ignorant, he does not know the wrong and he

doesnot knowthe correct.Perhaps, hecalls tothe wrongwhilehedoesnot knowandperhaps, hewarns against thegood

whileheisunawarebecause ignoranceisa fataldisease.(thecallermustbeequippedwithknowledge)because the one who calls toAllah willbeexposed todoubts from

the Shayateen amongst the jinnand mankind doubts in Aqeedah and doubts concerningHalaal and Haraam. And ifhe

does not posses the knowledge to refute these doubts, then hebe will confused and perhaps he will be overpowered by

the peopleofmisguidance, which will bea great loss. So, the one who calls toAllah mustbeequippedwith the beneficial

knowledge and means to combat the opponents, and therefore the Prophet said to Mu'adh , "You are going to a

    peoplefromtheAhlul-Kitab." Meaningbeware.

The people of the Book are learned; they have misinterpretations and they have doubts and they have false arguments.

    Theonewhoapproaches themmustbeawareoftheirconditions.

In this (narration) is a proof that it is obligatory upon the caller to learn about the society in which he is doing

Dawah, he should know their troubles and their nature; and he should know their level of knowledge such that he is

preparedtofacethem- otherwise, theywillconfuse him and perhaps overpowerhim and thiswillbea lossfor the Dawah

    toAllah andthiswillbea failurebeforetheopponentsandthe foes.

It isnot appropriate toenter thefieldofDawah untilone learns and achievescomprehensionand understanding through

beneficialknowledge. Ifone has someknowledge ora partofknowledge, thenheshouldcall inaccordancetothe limit of

his knowledge and he should stopat the matters which hedoes not know. And heshould not engagewith the people in

    issueofconfusionthat he inunacquaintedwith.

This isa very important matterand it is that

    with whichhe canconfront thosewhomheiscalling toandsolvetheirproblems...

"Glorified and Exalted be Allah. And I am not of the Mushrikoon (those who set up rivals with Allah)."

    [Soorah Yusuf (12): 108]

(in this part of the verse is) glorifying Allah from that which does not befit Him from shirk, imperfection and defects. In

this is safeguardingthe correct Aqeedah fromthatwhich does not befit Him fromShirk and defects which Shaytan from

    theJinn andmankindutter.

The callermustbeknowledgeable about thisgreat knowledge and hecannotglorify Allah fromthatwhich does

not befit Him until he learns the correct Aqeedah and learns that which opposes it fromShirk and doubts in such a way

    thathecanglorifyAllah.

    But ifhehas someknowledge, thenheshouldcall inaccordancewithhis

    levelofknowledgeandheshouldstopat issueswhichhedoes notknow.

one shouldbea caller inaccordancewith the level ofhis knowledge

    Question:Whatdoyousayconcerningthosewhotravel (makeKhurooj)toothercountriesforDawahwhilethey

have never ever sought knowledge themselves. They encourage others to it and refute any other approach. They

claim thatwhosoever isinthewayofAllah forDawah,Allahwilltakecareofthem. And theyallegethatknowledge isnota

fundamental condition. And you are aware that he, who travels to other countries will face different madhhabs and

religionsand questions addressedto thecaller. DoyounotagreeShaikhthathe, whotravelsshould beequipped inorder

to face the people, and especially in West Asia, where they denounce Shaikh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab. Please

    respondsothatwemaybenefitfromit.

Answer by Shaikh Salih al-Fawzan, ''Khurooj in the way of Allah' is (used in the context of) Khurooj for battle but as for

    whattheycallKhuroojnowadaysis BidahwhichisnotknownfromtheSalaf.

A person's going out in order tocall towards Allah doesnot have a set numberofdays, ratherone calls towards

Allahinaccordancewith hiscapabilityand opportunities, without restrictingtoaJamaa'ahorasetof fortydays or less or

    more.

Similarly, what is required from the caller to Islam is to be knowledgeable. It is not permissible for a person to

make Dawah while he is ignorant, Allah says, "Say (O Muhammad), 'This is my way; I invite unto Allah with sure

    knowledge, I andwhosoever followsmewithsureknowledge."[SoorahYusuf (12):108]

'with sure knowledge' because the caller should certainly know what he is calling the people to; Wajib

(obligatory), Mustahab (recommended), Prohibited or Makrooh (disliked), and he should know what is Shirk, sin, Kufr

    (disbelief) andFusq,andheshouldknowthedifferentlevelsof Inkar (rejection)and itskinds.

The Khurooj that takes one away from learning knowledge is an act of Batil (falsehood), because seeking

knowledge isobligatory and itdoes not takeplaceexceptwith learningand studying, and itdoesnotoccurthrough Ilham

    (inspiration), this is fromthemythsofSufimisguidance,because and
