_______, North Carolina. Thank you for sup-

porting funding for tobacco prevention pro-

grams in last year’s budget. As you prepare this

year’s budget proposal, I hope you will allocate

a minimum of $17.3 million in recurring funds

to tobacco prevention programs. A poll released

this week found that 74% of North Carolina

voters support these programs. The youth

smoking rate is now the lowest in our state’s

history! These programs work and need to be

continued.

for her past support of tobacco

that she include $17.3 million

in recurring funds for tobacco

prevention programs in next

year’s budget!
