BENTLEY PRIORY MUSEUM Friday 3rd March

The Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Museum opened in 2013, and aims totell the story of the one, the few and the many. In the summer of 1940 ahandsome country house set among beautiful gardens on the picturesquehills of Stanmore overlooking London, was quite possibly the most importantbuilding in the world. The house was Bentley Priory, the headquarters offighter command. It was from this elegant spot that its commander Sir HughDowding directed his men in the Battle of Britain. We join Dr Helen Fry fora morning talk to shed light on one of the little-known deception operationsof WW2. There is then time for lunch before an afternoon guided museumtour. CROMER CRAB & LOBSTER FESTIVAL Saturday 20th May

TheEurotunnel crossing brings us into Calais, from here we proceed directlyto Essex Farm, where the poem "In Flanders Fields" was written. Ourjourney continues to Tyne Cot Cemetery in the heart of the Passchendaelebattlefield. From Passchendaele we make the short journey to Hill 62. Intime for an afternoon coffee we head into Ypres to explore the wonderfullyrestored city and see its famous Lakenhalle, which accommodates the ‘InFlanders Fields’ museum. Finally, we depart for the Menin Gate whichmarks the entry to the route out to the Ypres Salient. Hear the hauntingsound of The Last Post, played every evening since July 1928 under theimposing arches of the Gate, before you return to Calais for our journeyhome. Includes: Travel via Eurotunnel

We continue from here to Lyndhurst in time for a lunchopportunity, the village of Lyndhurst well known as the capital of the New Forest. In theafternoon, we head back through the village of Brockenhurst, the place where the Northand South Weirs Streams join. Day 5 Sadly, today we must depart, and make our way up to London.
