BENTLEY PRIORY MUSEUM Friday 3rd March

The Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Museum opened in 2013, and aims totell the story of the one, the few and the many. In the summer of 1940 ahandsome country house set among beautiful gardens on the picturesquehills of Stanmore overlooking London, was quite possibly the most importantbuilding in the world. The house was Bentley Priory, the headquarters offighter command. It was from this elegant spot that its commander Sir HughDowding directed his men in the Battle of Britain. We join Dr Helen Fry fora morning talk to shed light on one of the little-known deception operationsof WW2. There is then time for lunch before an afternoon guided museumtour. TOBACCO ALLEY & BLANKENBERGE Saturday 4th March

Travelling by Eurotunnel to Calais, we drive directly to Tobacco Alley, justover the border to Belgium. A short stop here to stock up on cheapcigarettes, tobacco and chocolates before moving onto Blankenberge, forsome free time to explore or take a walk along the 350m long pedestrianpier, with its monumental round building. CROMER CRAB & LOBSTER FESTIVAL Saturday 20th May

A fun coastal festival put together by two apparently rival towns Cromerand Sheringham. We head to Cromer for a celebration of the sea harvestwith cooking demonstrations as well as plenty of food and lobster to enjoy,though the highlight is inevitably the crabbing championship.
