15 mins decide from: TT RockStars, Tackling Tables or Topmarks: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button. In lesson 4 today, you will be calculating quantities. Watch the tutorial carefully and then use bar models to complete the activity.

15 mins reading aloud to someone else. Spellings Day 4: Write your spellings out

Fitness challenge: Whilst home schooling, on Thursday nights many of us clapped to say thank you to all the key workers. As it is Thursday today, you will complete the activities to spell “Thank you NHS”. Tomorrow in English, you are going to write a poem about different emotions. To help prepare you for this, you are going to answer the questions below to describe 5 of your own different emotions. You could select from some of these: fear, joy, anxiety, love, trust, anger, sadness, sorrow, sympathy, happiness, pride, peaceful, patient, calm, envy or any other emotions you can think of. How you plan your work is up to you, you could use a table or list your answers. These are the questions and an example for fear: What colour would it be? black like storm clouds accumulating above What does it taste like? bitter, sherbet lemons, make me close my eyes What does smell like? burning, destructive fires What does it look like? eerie, deserted street What does it sound like? ricocheting footsteps approaching What does it feel like? being alone when you have a nightmare Be imaginative and try and place yourself in the emotions you are describing, that will help you plan your ideas.

15 mins decide from: TT RockStars, Tackling Tables or Topmarks: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button. Lesson 5 today is a series of maths challenges, like last week. They might revise some areas of maths we have already studied. Be positive, show resilience, and attempt as many of the problems as possible. These are building your ability to complete reasoning and problem solving skills. If you prefer, complete “True or False” measurement statements. These have been sent as an attachment on Class Story. The sheets are differentiated: one star = bronze two stars = silver three stars = gold

15 mins reading aloud to someone else. Spellings Day 5: You have had these spellings to learn, since you were in Y3, fingers crossed today, you are going to score 10 / 10. Good luck! Today, you will write your emotions poem, using your ideas from yesterday. Each verse could follow the same pattern or you might like to mix the order of the sentences up. Remember, your poem will have 5 verses, one for each of your chosen emotions. Here is one possible order for the verse describing fear. Fear is black, storm clouds accumulating above my house. It tastes like sherbet lemons, so bitter I instinctively close my eyes. It smells like burning, destructive fires devouring anything in their path. It looks like eerie, deserted streets, not a soul is stirring. It sounds like ricocheting footsteps approaching closer, closer in a suspense film. It feels like being alone at night when you wake up from a nightmare. As your read this verse, could you picture the images being described? Read your completed poems out to someone else. Did the verses conjure up those emotions in that person? Your teachers would love to be able to share your work, add it to your portfolio

Fitness challenge: Lots of people have been inspirational during the past few months. Today we’d like you to perform the activities to salute Sir Tom Moore. He has just celebrated his 100th birthday and by completing laps of his garden, raised the staggering sum of £32,000,000 to support the NHS. This afternoon, you are going to be an artist. Paintings create different feelings and emotions to different people. What emotions do these paintings create in you? How do you think the artist achieved this?
