21 Days of Prayer2

For the next 21 days, our church will be praying together. We have written out a specific focus, Scripture and prayer for each day to make it easy to follow along. We invite you to also follow along each day as different team mem-bers lead us through every day via video (available at onespokane.com/21days and our social media accounts). We will unite together to pray for our neighbors, our church family, our ONE* Ministry teams and our commu-nity. We will also be praying for our national leaders and our local and global outreach partners.

Prayer should be our first response, not a last resort. Let’s join together and make the next 21 days a time to focus on God and pursue His plan for our lives, our neighbors, our church, and our community through prayer.

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for. 1 John 5:14-15.

PRAYER INSTRUCTIONS:

CREATE A LIFESTYLE OF PRAYER Prayer is most effective when it isn’t something we do every now and then, but when it’s a lifestyle we cultivate. To understand how to have a lifestyle of prayer, we can look at the example Jesus gave during His life on earth.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Mark 1:35.

HAVE A CERTAIN TIME Jesus got up early in the morning to spend time with His Heavenly Father. Make a daily appointment with God — whether it’s first thing in the morning, at lunch, or in the evening — and faithfully keep it.

HAVE A CERTAIN PLACE Jesus had a specific place He went to pray. Having a des-ignated place to pray helps us remove distractions and frees us to worship and pray out loud.

HAVE A CERTAIN PLAN When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, He gave them a prayer outline. We call it “The Lord’s Prayer.” As we pray every day, our plans for our prayer time can vary, to possibly include worship music, Bible reading, and quiet time to listen to God.

SCRIPTURE: James 1:5-7If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

PRAYER Father, I need Your wisdom and guidance. Not my will be done, but Your will be done in me and through me. Guide me by Your Spirit of wisdom, revelation and discernment and make Your plans known to me, for “many are the plans of a man’s heart, but God directs his steps.” Father God, reveal Your plans and purposes to me and guide my steps. During our 21 Days of Prayer, help me to draw closer to You and be more aware of Your presence in my life. I want to follow You and live my life for You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

DAY 1 | WISDOM & GUIDANCE

SCRIPTURE: Luke 10:27‘…You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

PRAYER Father, help us become more fully devoted to You in every aspect of our lives and help us to love our neigh-bors as ourselves. We desperately need Your help to re-prioritize our lives so we can be more available to love and care for others. We believe You have placed us in our specific neighborhoods to be a light and that You are already at work in our neighborhoods. Holy Spirit, interrupt our lives for others and help us become more aware of how you want to use us to make a difference in someone’s life. We lift up our neighbors and ask for You to touch their hearts and their lives. Bless all of our neighborhood groups as they meet for the next six weeks to become more intentional about reaching others for You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

PRAYER Father, we are so thankful for our ONE* Students students and leaders. We pray for You to show them Your love, Your grace, and Your power every day. Help them to trust in You will all of their hearts and to seek your will above all else. Lead and guide them in Your ways and by Your Spirit and protect them from the evil one. Greater is He that is in them than he that is in the world. Give them boldness to shine bright for You and great courage to lead their generation to You. Jesus, help them become more like You as You give them the desire and the power to do what pleases You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, thank you for giving us Your Son so we could walk in freedom. I pray for our recovery groups to experience the power of your Spirit and walk free from anything that would try to hold them back from being all that You called them to be in Christ Jesus. May they experience healing and restoration and be made complete with all the fullness of the life and power that comes from God. Thank you for our Recovery group leaders and their com-mitment to help those in their groups experience the love and freedom found in Jesus. In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, we are so thankful for our ONE* Kids team and leaders who love and care for the children who attend ONE* every week. Children are important to You and to us, and we are serious about helping them find and follow Jesus Christ. We pray You would speak to those You are calling to serve in the kid’s areas and help them step out by faith to get involved in helping children learn more about Jesus and Your love for them. Thank you for this amazing team of people called to love our ONE* Kids and families! In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, we are so thankful for the First Responders in our community and the life-saving work they do to help people every day. Guide them in all they do and give them the wisdom they need to make tough decisions on a daily basis. Protect them and bless them beyond measure for the work they do to help save lives. We honor them and are so thankful for them and their families. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: Luke 15:4If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it?

PRAYER Father, unite us together to go after the one who is lost, the one who is hurting, the one who is far away from You. We want to reach more children, more students, more families, and more adults than we ever have before. We lift up this generosity initiative and ask that You help each of us become more generous to reach others for You. You are the greatest giver of all and the greatest example of generosity ever. Help us become more like You to be more generous with our time, our talents and our treasure. For the ONE is more than an initiative – it is a movement to reach others for You. Speak to each of our hearts and unite us as ONE*, For the ONE. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: John 16:13-14When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.

PRAYER Father, I ask you to tune my ears to Your voice. Lead me and guide me by Your Spirit in every decision I make today. Help me to hear and obey Your voice even when the noise of this world tries to drown You out. Jesus, You said that Your sheep listen to Your voice and that they follow ( John 10:27). I choose to listen to Your voice, and I will follow the Holy Spirit wherever He leads because He always leads me back to You.

SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:38-39And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

PRAYER Father, Your love is extravagant! Nothing in all of creation could ever separate us from Your love for us. When we face difficult situations or when disappointment invades our lives, Your love holds us up and keeps us strong. Today and every day, be with the young adults in our church and in our community. Help them to know they are loved and not alone, and they have been created by You with a mighty purpose to make a difference in this world. Reveal Your extravagant love to them by Your Spirit. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 40:3He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD. PRAYER Father, I pray for our worship, media and production teams to reveal Your love and power to our church and community each and every week. They have been gifted by You to draw us closer to Your presence through all that they do. Keep them healthy and whole. Protect their minds, their marriages, their children and their health as they serve You and others. Give them new songs, creative ideas and divine inspiration to create worship experiences that “move” people toward You. Help them to remember that their gifts come from their Heavenly Father and were designed to honor You and inspire people to trust in You.

SCRIPTURE: 1 Timothy 2:1-4I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

PRAYER Father, we pray for all leaders in our local, state, and national government to know You. Surround them with Christ-followers and godly people who will share the good news with them and lead them to You. For those who are already Christ-followers, lead them by Your Spirit and fill them with Your Spirit for this time. Help them to honor You with their lives, their leadership, and influence others for You. We pray Your blessings upon them and for them and their families to be protected. Give them wisdom by Your Spirit and help them lead with excellence and honor. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: Philippians 2:13For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

PRAYER Father, we lift our marriages up to You right now and ask that You strengthen them, guard and protect them. Give each individual the desire and the power to do what pleases You in their relationship. Help them to be humble, gentle, patient, and kind with each other because of Your love. Help them to believe the best and bring out the best in each other and honor You above all else. Let Your light shine brightly through them to influence others for You, and help them show Your unconditional love to each other every day. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: 1 Timothy 2:8In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.

PRAYER Father, I pray for Your sons to desire You most of all and to live honorable lives of godly character and integrity before You. Help them to passionately pursue You first above all else and by the help of Your Spirit be the godly men, husbands, dads, and leaders You have created them to be. Fill them with Your Spirit and lead them by Your Spirit and give them wisdom beyond their years to lead others for You. Give them divine appointments and divine interruptions each day. SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 13:7Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

PRAYER Let this kind of love be the love that reigns in every marriage and family at ONE* and in our community. Let us be known by the love we show for each other in the good times and in the difficult times. Help us to be filled with Your love and power and walk in it every day for our spouse and our children. Let us be quick to recognize that our spouse is not our enemy and our children are a blessing from You. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to show Your mercy and forgiveness towards each other, and the grace of God to strengthen our marriage and families and our family. In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, it is our desire that everyone who attends ONE* would become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Help our faith to grow strong through the power of Your Word and give us spiritual wisdom and understanding by Your Spirit. Help us to live our lives to always honor and please the Lord and be filled with thankfulness every day for our salvation and the freedom we have been given through Your Son, Jesus Christ. We are committed to becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and we need Your help daily with this. In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, thank you for our amazing Guest Services teams and their hearts to serve You by serving people. Just as Jesus was, we are not called to be served but to serve, so help us to serve with a heart of thanksgiving and gratitude for all You have done for us. Our Guest Services Teams are a tremendous blessing to those You bring through our doors every week because they take care of the details so those who attend can experience Jesus Christ. Thank you for their commitment to this team and to our church community, and bless those on this team in amazing ways like only You can. We pray protection and divine health over them and their families and that they would prosper in every way. We could not do what we do without them. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 2:2You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

PRAYER Father, we pray for our ONE* School of Ministry students and interns to grow in their faith as they learn more about the Word of God and grow in knowledge, truth, and grace. We pray for their hearts to hunger and thirst for You as they discover more about You and Your plan for their lives. Help them serve others with love and compassion, and guard and protect them as You set them apart to do amazing things for You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, thank You for our Mead Outreach Campus and the team of people You have placed there to reach others for You. Continue to bless the ministry that is occurring there every week through our food programs, prison ministry, Celebrate Recovery, and Bible study groups. Open the doors for new opportunities to come our way to help more people find and follow You. We also pray for our other local and global partners in our city and around the world to grow and continue to help those who are hurting and need Jesus. Give us the courage and the boldness to keep expanding our reach to bring hope to broken people in a broken world. In Jesus Name, Amen.

PRAYER Father, thank You for our Team Life teams who help make ministry happen each and every week. Their service to You and to those who attend ONE* is such a tremendous blessing as each one does their part to help our church community grow in faith and love. Thank You for our Growth Track teams and for using this environment to help people grow in their faith and learn more about the mission of ONE* and how they can get involved. We are so thankful for what You are doing in and through our church community. Bless these teams in amazing ways this week and help them walk in the abundant life that was given through Your Son, Jesus. In Jesus Name, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: Romans 10:9-10 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. PRAYER Father, thank You for sending Your precious Son so we could have a relationship with You. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us and gave His life for us so that we could be with You forever. We lift up our loved ones and those in our church and our community who have not received You yet. We bind the spirit that has blinded their minds from believing and receiving You into their hearts and lives. Send us and other Christ-followers to share the Good News with them that Christ, our Redeemer, came and gave His life for them so they could have an eternal relationship with You. PRAYER Father, help us be a blessing this Halloween to those in our community and bring light into our neighborhoods. We want to reach others for You and impact those who live near us. Lead us by Your Spirit on this night with every conversation as we connect with friends and make new ones. Bless those who are stepping out to reach out to their neighbors for You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
