TECH TIPS Maintaining An Air Suspension DATE 08-2009 1. The air spring is subject to abrasion. If run with low air pressure, road grime and dirt can get inside of the folds and act as an abrasive that leads to holes in the air spring. 2. Check all air line plumbing for damage or leaks. 3. Check all electrical wiring to the valving and suspension. 4. Examine the trailing arm that has the pivot bushings. The rubber of the bushing can deteriorate from the elements. 5. Proper torque is critical on these suspensions. Also the condition of the attaching hardware. 6. Some manufacturers “weld” the u-bolts at the connections. These will work loose so inspection is critical. 7. The torque rod is an integral part of a suspension. Inspection and proper care is critical. 8. Inspection of shock absorbers is also critical. Always replace in pairs and with an equal replacement 9. RIDE HEIGHT !!!!!!! Check for proper ride height (per OEM specs), operation of the control valve and the linkage to the valve.

1. The air spring is subject to abrasion. If run withlow air pressure, road grime and dirt can getinside of the folds and act as an abrasive thatleads to holes in the air spring.

2. Check all air line plumbing for damage or leaks.

3. Check all electrical wiring to the valving andsuspension.

4. Examine the trailing arm that has the pivotbushings. The rubber of the bushing candeteriorate from the elements.

5. Proper torque is critical on these suspensions. Also the condition of the attaching hardware.

6. Some manufacturers “weld” the u-bolts at theconnections. These will work loose soinspection is critical.

7. The torque rod is an integral part of asuspension. Inspection and proper care iscritical.

8. Inspection of shock absorbers is also critical.Always replace in pairs and with an equalreplacement

9. RIDE HEIGHT !!!!!!! Check for proper rideheight (per OEM specs), operation of thecontrol valve and the linkage to the valve.
