section to ensure no bleeding or overlapping.

COLOR FOR ALL

You can also use clear to dilute the shade for a

more subtle result.

STAY MOISTURIZED

Ensure your bleach remains moist- no moisture, no

power! Save yourself time by bringing a beaker of

extra peroxide with you to your station.

HIGH TENSION

Balayage is all about TENSION. Keep firm tension on

the hair, but soft tension with your brush. Balayage

literally means “to sweep.” Keep this in mind during

application & sweep the lightener over the hair.

Use small sections to ensure complete saturation.

STR ATEGIZE YOUR SATUR ATION

When doing balayage, vary the amount of

saturation on the head. This will create varied

tones, hues, and intensity.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Your hair will be a big statement, so don’t use more than

three shadows. A base shadow, a crease and a shimmer or

highlight for the center of the lid.

RE-THINK THAT PINK

Use warmer tones to compliment a cooler hair color. For

example: If your want to be Minty-Fresh keep it peachy on

your cheeks and lips.

AU-NATURALE

Let your natural self come through. Utilize your pretty lip

by only adding gloss to the center. Blot and go.

COLOR MATCH

Using your finger, take a small dab of three shades you

think would match your coloring, and on your jaw line

on to your neck mark three lines to see which foundation

properly matches your skin tone!

Q&AQ: CAN I SPEED UP THE LIGHTENING PROCESS WITH HEAT?

No. It is not recommended to use heat.

Q: HOW LIGHT DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE FOR THE COLORSYNC WATERCOLORS

TO BE VIBRANT?

The lighter the level of hair the more vibrant the color. It is recommended for level 6 and higher.

Q: CAN I MIX A COLOR SYNC WATERCOLOR SHADE WITH SOBOOST?

Yes. Watercolor shades can be mixed with SOBOOST like any other Color Sync shade. For best results, mix

SOBOOST in a 1:3 ratio. For example, 15ml SOBOOST Red + 45ml Color Sync Watercolor Quartz Pink +

60ml 2.7% (9V) Matrix Color Sync Activator.

Q: HOW LONG WILL THE COLOR SYNC WATERCOLORS SHADES LAST IN HAIR?

Up to 20 shampoos.

Q: CAN I USE THE FREEHAND ADDITIVE FOR ON-SCALP APPLICATION?

No. We recommend using the Oil Additive for on-scalp applications. The Oil Additive enhances scalp

comfort for the client.

Q: CAN I USE THE OIL ADDITIVE FOR OFF-SCALP APPLICATIONS?

Yes. You can use the Oil Addictive for on- & off-scalp applications.

Q: CAN YOU INTERMIX THE UL-SERIES?

Yes. Intermixing the shades will dilute its toning power and/or create pastel blondes.

Q: WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED STARTING LEVEL WHEN USING THE UL-SERIES?

A natural level 6 and lighter.

Q: WILL THE UL-SERIES COVER GREY HAIR?

No. It is not recommended for grey coverage.
