The Bridgestone Corporation was founded in 1931 by Shojiro Ishibashi. The world headquarters is in Tokyo, Japan and the current Chairman, CEO and President is Masaaki Tsuya.
Bridgestone Corporation leads the tire and rubber industry globally regarding ISO 14001 certification. Today, 52 Bridgestone Americas facilities are ISO 14001 certified.
Currently Bridgestone employs over 123,000 in 25 countries.

A Technological Leader - Bridgestone has a world class research and development center in Akron, Ohio that produces advanced tire technologies for products like Blizzak winter tires, Ecopia tires with better fuel economy and industry leading Run-Flat technology. In addition, Bridgestone Americas operates world-class proving grounds in Ft. Stockton, Texas; São Pedro, Brazil; and Acuña, Mexico.
Quality Products - BATO develops, manufactures and markets tires for almost every kind of vehicle. More than 8,000 different types and sizes of tires — from a 13-foot-tall giant radial for earthmoving equipment to a kart tire that stands only 10 inches high.
Community Involvement - Giving back to the community is the foundation upon which Bridgestone was built. The Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund contributes millions annually in support of causes that champion children’s issues, education and the environment and conservation.
