Project Description: This is an 11 by an 8.5, fullbleed, montage ier. The project includes 2
separate images, masked together andtypography, made in Photoshop.
Programs Used: Adobe PhotoshopProject Objectives: -Learn to manage Photo-shop layers.-Learn to blend images together smoothly,using masks. (Two or more images)-Use of lters.
-Apply appropriate typography.-Choosing good quality images. Applytypography principles.
-Unifying a piece with a consistent themeProcess: I found these two images online. FirstI imported the map onto an 11 by an 8.5-inchbackground in Photoshop. The map wasntquite big enough so I had to resize. Next I
dragged in the picture of the couple, resizedit a bit and masked the edges. I left a bit ofthe background kitchen to show that they
are at home, like the quote says. Next I add-ed the typography and made sure the typewas aligned with each other. Lastly, I applieda sharpen background and intensied the
map color.

Project Description: This is a brochure with onefold, a duplex layout.Programs Used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Pho-toshop and Adobe Illustrator.Project Objectives: -Set up and align atwo-sided, folded document.-Create an original company logo and use it
in a brochure.-Incorporate quality images. One should beclipped in Photoshop and text-wrapped inInDesign so the text follows the cutout shapeof the image.-Trim for a full bleed and print in duplex(two-sided) color.Process: First I used the rulers in InDesign toplan out where I wanted my fold and tab tobe. From there I inserted my body copy and
images. I pulled an image into Photoshop,
cropped it and then placed the croppedimage into InDesign and placed a text wraparound it. I used the eye dropper tool on theimage of the front of my brochure to get thecolor that I used for my background, to addrepetition I used black bars around some ofmy next to help the ow and get the readers
eyes to focus on that part of the brochure. Iused a logo that I created in Illustrator andplaced on the front of my brochure for brand-
ing and then again on the back for somerepetition. I used images that had a lot ofcommon themes or looks; this helped add tothe repetition on my brochure.

Project Description: This is an 8.5 by 11project with 3 different logos all for the samecompany, Lindsay Sisters Boutique.Programs Used: Adobe IllustratorProject Objectives: -Create a variety of logosto t a company or personal image
-Use only the tools of Illustrator.-Setting up a professional display for thecompany.Process: These 3 logos were all created inillustrator using various tools. I manipulatedshapes such as the star and circle to makethem into more interesting shapes, like aower and a heart. I used typography that
would contrast or that was bold enough to
stand out on its own. This was a great project
to let creativity ow and learn the basics ofAdobe Illustrator.

Project Description: This a color, full bleedevent ad ier. This ier advertises for a fash-ion show auction, in which all proceeds willgo to the childrens hospital. This was madewith limited resources; all that was used was ascanned image and tools available in Micro-soft Word. The bright colors and repetition of
the colors will help this ad pop.Programs Used: Microsoft Word
Project Objectives: -Find, scan and import ahigh-quality image.-Create a full-bleed design-Use text boxes for layout in Word.-Insert and edit images in Word.Process: First I had to nd an image to scaninto the computer. I looked through the Kate
Spade Look Book and this image stood out tome. After I scanned it in, I opened it up in Mic-rosoft Word and enlarged it into a full bleed. Ithen matched the colors of the clothes to the
colors of my fonts and boxes.

trim only .125)-Apply typography rules keeping small copy.-Learning to keep thing simple by having wa-termarks and drop shadows light and whitespace.-Applying contact information: Include name,address, phone, and email on each piece.Process: I created the logo in Illustrator rst. I
used the ellipse tool, with the rotate tool, tomake the pink ower shape. Next I used a
blue circle covered by another pink circle tomake a blue border. Next I placed the lettersinto the logo. Then I copied my logo into anew document and made my letterhead. Iused the rectangle tool to make the lines andused the same colors in my logo for lines. The
font I used for my contact information con-trasts the font chosen for my logo.

Project Description: This is a website I createdusing html and css to display and explain therationale for a logo I created in Adobe Illustra-tor.

attach as one le.Process: The rst thing I did in this project was
write an html document in Text Wrangler thatincluded my logo, headings, a link to my blog,basic text and webpage title. Next, I wrote acss document in Text Wrangler. Here is whereI added colors, margins and text styles. Afterboth documents were created a linked my cssto my html by writing a code in my html doc-
ument with the name of my css document.Together, they made my web page.

I used a picture of recent graduates so thatother recent graduates would be attractedto it because it looks like it, and does, targetthem. I made sure to use all the design ele-ments, especially alignment by aligning allcomponents to another one on the page. Inregards to ow, the thick black bar keeps peo-ples eyes from moving off the page

Project Description: This is an image that I tookmyself and then I edited it using Photoshop.Programs Used: Adobe Photoshop
Project Objectives: -Learn basic photographyskills.-Use a digital camera to take a quality image,then download it.-Size and crop the image. 6X6 resolution 150-Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and
saturation levels.-Use a selection tool to isolate a portion of the
image.-Desaturate the selected portion of the image.-Use a lter or colorize a portion of the image.
Process: I took this image using a point andshoot camera. Even though it was just a simplecamera I was still able to blur the background.I then opened the image in Photoshop andcropped it into a 6X6 image. I then selectedthe green skeleton, desaturized the back-
ground and applied a neon glow lter.
