Thank you very much to all those who made the school camp a success. In addition to the children, there were at least 66 families who came out for some part of the camp! To those who stayed for the whole camp I trust you have caught up on lost sleep! The vision for camp was fulfilled: “As stewards we will connect with the Provider and the community and creation He has blessed us with. - Connecting with God, people and creation, having fun, developing leadership potential, working as a team, building strengths and serving”. I have particularly enjoyed hearing student testimonies of how they have connected with God and how He has provided for them. We were particularly blessed to have Bunty Bunce (international Children’s Ministry teacher trainer) stay for the duration of the camp and take chapel and devotional sessions with the senior syndicate students. She flew in from Christchurch especially for our camp and flew out to Singapore yesterday. I would like you to think about how old your child(ren) will be in two years’ time, and give me feedback on whether you would like your child(ren) to experience a class or syndicate camp, rather than a whole school camp. Also please give feedback on places where you would like to see the camp taking place. May God bless you and your family, Debbie Middleton

Farewell

It is with great sadness that we will be farewelling Mrs Bev Gillespie at the end of term 1. She is retiring from teaching to spend more time with her family (particularly her first grandchild.) She first started relief teaching at Maranatha during the early 90’s when her daughter was a student here. She is loved and appreciated by the entire school community. We still hear from ex students who have fond memories of her.
