To Understand:
Difference between Place Value and Face value
The place value of a digit depends upon the place occupied by the digit in a number and tells if it is in
the Ones, Tens, or Hundreds place. Ones have the smallest place value.
The face value of a digit is the digit itself.
The place value of a digit keeps on changing but its face value always remains the same.

➢ Storage Parts of a Computer: Hard Disk, Pen Drive, Compact Disk (CD), Digital
Versatile Disc (DVD)
To Understand:
Storing your Computer Work
If your computer is switched off suddenly for some reason, your computer work will be erased as it is
stored temporarily. Storage parts help us to store work permanently.
⚫ Storage part stores your Computer work.
⚫ We can open that stored work anytime later.
Various Storage Parts
There are various storage parts on which you can store your work permanently.
Hard Disk - A Hard disk is fixed inside the CPU
cabinet, you cannot see it. - It has a lot of storage capacity. - All the computer work which you
do is first stored on the Hard disk. - From the Hard Disk it can be
copied to a CD, DVD or a Pen drive.

Pen Drive - A Pen drive can be easily attached
to a CPU to store a large amount of computer work.
- The Pen drive is very small and is like a keyring.
- The computer work can be easily read from and written onto the Pen Drive.
