Dear Parent/Guardian, We are starting a Code Club and are looking for enthusiastic parents to help us run it. Would you be interested in getting involved? What is Code Club? Code Club is a nationwide network of volunteers who run free coding clubs for young people aged 8 - 12. There are already over 10,000 Code Clubs around the world, inspiring the next generation to get excited about computing and digital making. How does it work? Code Club provides step-by-step projects for the club members to follow. Using these, the children create games, animations, and websites while learning the key concepts of programming at the same time. Volunteers help by setting up each club session and assisting with the projects. What do the children learn? Code Club has resources to teach children to code in Scratch, HTML/CSS, Python, and micro:bit. Learning to code is more than a vocational skill—it changes the way children analyze and solve problems, and encourages creative thinking and collab- oration. How can you help? We need keen volunteers to assist in running the club. There will be a member of venue staff at the club sessions too, and Code Club provides support and training. You don’t need to be an experienced programmer to volunteer, you just need to be willing to learn some basic Scratch, Python, HTML, or micro:bit alongside your club. Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are starting a Code Club and are looking for enthusiastic parents to help us run it.

Learning to code is more than a vocational skill—it changes the way children analyze and solve problems, and encourages creative thinking and collab-oration.
