Dear Parishioners, We had a wonderful Easter celebration. Those getting ready for First Communion and their parents took part on Holy Thursday and they got their feet washed. On Good Friday even though some places had a lot of rain. It did not really rain here so we could pray the Stations of the Cross in spring like humidity. On Saturday we blessed the fire and welcomed a new member into our church, Lindsy Truitt. None of these things just happened. Sandy Herndon and group helped introduce Lindsy to the practices of the church. Altar Servers had to be made aware of all the special changes in the services for Holy Week. The choir had to rehearse and then sing for all the services. Lectors were given lengthy readings. Our Church Secretary, Dee, set up many different books for the services. Palms and then flowers had to be arranged. And this year vestments had to be altered because our new Deacon is not as tall as the former one. We thank Mary Morris for that. Deacon Brent and Fr. Jude had to work on their sermons for the different days. Because it is still difficult to move. I sat and directed the services because I was familiar with them since I have done them over forty times. The last ones we have to thank is our faithful parishioners. Your presence makes the services more meaningful. Now we continue the celebration of Easter for the next six weeks and we are reminded that we make the risen Lord present in our lives. God Bless, Fr.
