Wednesday’s ProgramGirls on the Run, Karen Peters: Inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. The Goal of GOTR is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident now and into the future. GOTR uses an experience-based curriculum that is creatively integrated with running to help build self esteem, learn to accept others and be true to their original selves.GOTR is far more than just an exercise program. Coaches utilize a proven curriculum that encourages girls to make healthy choices about food, exercise, relationships and community involvement. the program is designed to help girls with: Understanding themselves; Setting personal goals; Learning skills to get along in a group; Examining responsibility & voice in the community. The Sutter County Girls on the Run is a program of Soroptimist International of Marysville-Yuba City, a non-profit service club, dedicated to helping girls in 3rd through 6th grade prepare for a lifetime of self respect and healthy living. The after school running program utilizes an innovative curriculum to focus on building self-esteem and improving physical and emotional well-being during the most challenging years of adolescence.

Dear Rotarians,Two months down, ten more to go. Whew.
But seriously, folks: Today in my email I was forwarded a letter from RI President Sakuji Tanaka. The letter stated, “Thanks to the generous contributions of Rotarians, the number of polio cases is declining, but the current funding shortfall of $945 million and uneven political commitment puts the program at risk. Rotarians made a promise to the world’s children that no child ever again would suffer the crippling effects of polio and we must increase our efforts in collaboration with our partners and the Gates Foundation to realize our dream”.
This note came at a very opportune time. You see, there are no coincidences -- and Laura Nicholson’s fund-raising idea to benefit Polio Plus has come at just the right time - NOW. Please consider purchasing your very own box of beautiful Ken Calhoun postcards for only $20 ea. The money earned will go straight to Rotary’s Polio Plus program. So, you’ll get something beautiful -- and you’ll give something beautiful in return.
To purchase your own box of postcards visit our Rotary Club of Yuba City Facebook store. Or, contact Laura Nicholson at [email protected].
Bravo, Pres. Linda

THe 4-Way TeSTAdopted by Rotary in 1943, The 4-Way Test
has been translated into more than a hundred languages and published
in thousands of ways. It asks the following four questions:
Of the things we think, say or do ...
Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
