OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION WASHINGTON June 7,2018 The Honorable Christopher S. Murphy United States Senate 136 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, D.C. 20510 Dear Senator Murphy: Thank you for your letter expressing concern about the telephone scam targeting claimants of the September 1 l' Victim Compensation Fund. This scam is reprehensible, and the Commission has already been coordinating with the Federal Trade Commission to find its source. As with other law enforcement matters, I cannot comment further on the status of that work at this point. I have stated before that the Commission must robustly enforce our rules against those who violate the public trust. Preying on the victims of 9/11 is a grave violation of that trust. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
