Death of a dream...

"Death is the termination of the biological functions that define a living organism."

The above is an apt definition for every human being who wishes to know what death is.

But it has got no meaning for a mother who just lost her 15 year old son, the only son, the

person she could call her family...

Strange was the feeling when I saw people standing near the parking lot as I reached thehospital with my mother for her regular medical schedule. Had no idea what the rush was

all about, till I realized my cousin was a part of the crowd. My instant reaction was asmile as I saw him always with his peers who were sick n good for nothing. As I parked

my activa, he came and greeted mum, after that she went inside the hospital n he

investigated why we were there, as usual, typical Indian brother. Instead of replying I

asked him the same, and what his answer took me "shock". I kept thinking and it felt so,

so weird...

The whole scene was very disappointing. A fifteen year old's dead body kept inside, who

died in a bike accident. But that's not the worst part. He was drunk n crashed into the

divider, had seven or eight other bastards with him, who fled from the spot. How sick, If

they had been a little more responsible, the poor lady, who lost her husband already, wouldn't have to mourn her son's death.

What annoyed me was two of the jerks came back and cried like hell over his dead body, pretending to be his closest friend. Filthy, two-faced creatures. They proved themselves

unethical by running away like cowards, but couldn't understand what brought them

back. May be they feared their absence could get them into trouble, but definitely they

had least sympathy for the crying lady...

I left the hospital thinking a lot of things. Life has become so unpredictable, you neverknow when you could get caught by Mr. Fate, And your life ends right there. What wouldit be like, for that mother, who must have been regretting the day, letting her son step out

of the house. If she had the slightest idea of his fate, she never would've let him go. I

guess they say it quite right, death or place never come to you, you find and reach it onyour own, "Jagah insaan ke paas nahin aati, Insaan jagah tak khud hi pohonch jata hai..."

All I know now is his death was heartfelt by me as well as my mother. Still I don't know

who's fault it was. What I saw today wasn't a death of an adolescent, not a drunk and

careless youngster, not even an irresponsible son. It was the death of the only reason for a

mothers life. It was the death of a dream...
