Then after becoming that person standing over yet another unconscious wannabe while his mates promised bloody revenge (that rarely happened), I realized I was faking this too. Knocking out thugs on a nightclub door is not self-defence and it certainly wasn’t Karate either. The realization that most of the top self-defence instructors had never been in a street fight that wasn’t somehow connected to being a bouncer, was a light-bulb moment. At the top of the curl go straight into a shoulder press 7. Now reverse the process ending with you back laying on the floor. 8.
