Parent Information Paper Assembly—There will be a short assembly on Thursday morning to tie up some things and we have a visitor who will be making a presentation as well. Our main assembly will be on Friday and will start at 12pm with a short music performance/ bush dance, followed by our End of Year assem- bly finishing the day at 1.10pm. (Children will only need to bring some- thing for play lunch that day as lunch will be at home.) Parents are invited to join us for that final assembly. Graduation—Yesterday we had our Graduation ceremony for the Grade 6 students who are leaving us. A couple of photos on the right! It was a lovely afternoon and I congratulate them on the wonderful speeches they all gave. They have been a fabulous Grade 6 group who have represented our school and their families well. I wish them good luck in the future. Start of Term 2016—School starts on Thursday 28th January at 9am for all students. This includes our new Preps. We look forward to seeing eve- ryone on that day. The school office will reopen on Wednesday 27th Janu- ary. ...And finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank a whole range of people in our school. Firstly our School Council. The councillors are a fabulous group of people who hold the interests of the children very dear. They work extremely hard in very quiet, unassuming ways behind the scenes and sup- port the direction and vision of the school. They are a very solution fo- cussed group who are very supportive of both the staff and myself. We all value their input greatly. A special thank you to Di Selwood for taking on the President’s role, when Jacq stepped down. Secondly the staff. A big thank you to them for the wonderful job they do in providing a wonderful education for the children of Harcourt. They always go above and beyond and that is what makes them and this school so spe- cial. It is a pleasure and privilege to work with them. The school community—Many thanks to all the people who have supported our school in so many different ways this year. There are so many things which are done by the families to help keep things ticking along and we all appreciate it greatly. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful communi- ty. I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. Please stay safe and we look forward to seeing you next year.
