POP Residents’ Issue Log: December 2011 Issue Update Outcome Responsible Agent 1. General dog fouling around Upper Horfield. Police need evidence to enforce so this issue so it is down to residents to film or photograph whenever they witness dog owners allowing their dog to foul the street and not clean up afterwards and report to police. No further action by POP at but we continue to raise awareness with campaigns. Kate Berry to chase Dickens Close suspects & report back. Contact your local Police Beat Team on 101. BCC Dog Warden who can visit offenders to speak about dog control: 0117 9222 500. 2. Bags of catering waste being dumped around Upper Horfield (Macauley Road). Dave Bull has informed BCC Environmental Health about possible catering operation taking place at a property in the area. Waste is being removed but no response from Environmental Health yet. Jenny Dean has secured funding for these and they will be erected in the Park. Signs have been made, just need to be fitted. Signs are being installed on Friday 20 th January at 10am. Jenny Dean. Safer Bristol. Tel: 07810506968. 4. Changes to bin collection services advised. There has been an issue regarding the change of days for those living in flats with a Mini Recycling Centre. In Horfield the crews now visit on a Friday instead of a Tuesday. Presume this issue is now closed unless anyone else is affected by these changes in other areas. Police ran a crime prevention event in Lockleaze in December and will be working with BCHF to improve the way it communicates to Somali residents to build up confidence in reporting crime. Continue to work with police towards an event in 2012 targeting Somali residents to ensure they are reporting issues. Jenny Dean and Kate Berry. 6. Good neighbour leaflet. Eliot Close Flats – concerns about young people entering flats during the night and causing a noise nuisance Kate Berry advised and has spoken to tenants who have been associated with this issue. BCHF Repairs team asked to look to see whether main door could be looked at to reduce the noise when being closed. 9. Traffic issues at north

end of Wordsworth Road

– cars entering no

through road and using

our tenants’ driveways

to double back on.

Cllr Emmett has been asked to find out whether a

No Through Road sign can be installed on the

corner of Eden Grove and the end of Wordsworth

Road to prevent cars ending up in the dead end.

No further action by POP.

Contract has now been issued

by BCC so sign to be installed

by end Feb 2012.

10. Car parking area in

Beatrix: car was stolen

and cars parking in front

of car parks

Residents to report registration numbers of cars

blocking access to the police and also to report any

theft to the Police and Housing Officer.

11. Noise pollution (BCC) to

attend POP meetings.

Dave Bull reported that it is likely they will be

coming along to POP meetings from now on and he

is meeting in January to discuss this

wrecked by cars.

Residents need to take this issue to the Horfield

Residents’ Action Group and the Horfield

Neighbourhood Forum as this land is adopted.

night.

BCHF noted this request and all staff have now

been issues with keys to avoid this happening.

Kelly has arranged for 9 bins to

be removed and replaced with

2 large bins. POP to monitor.
