Introduction
The Tung-Navi matches your application requirements with the appropriate machining
solutions.
The software selects the best available solution for your input application, provides cutting
tool recommendations, cutting data, power requirements and productivity results for each
solution option.
The Tungaloy E-catalog is combined with the Tung-Navi software and can be activated
directly from the Tung-Navi user interface.

contact Tungaloy through the Tung-Navi Support icon.
Properties
• The screen is divided into two parts for your convenience:
On the left side –input data, on the right –output results.
• Quick search option: insertion of only a few mandatory values enables results.
• Takes into consideration default detailed data for the application and machine, with pre-
inserted
values that can be adjusted by the user.
• Selection of up to 5 brand names with up to 5 tool options for each brand.
• Sorting options such as: metal removal rate, power, etc.
• Links directly to the catalog pages of the selected tool/insert.
Range Availability
Currently, the program gives solutions for the Turning, Milling and Drilling applications.
And Solution for Grooving application will be added in near future.
Note: Pictures in this User Guide are taken from the prototype Tung-Navi
software. Actual Tung-Navi on the website may appear different.

1. Quick search – 2 steps to get basic results
Step 1
(For Turning, Milling and Drilling application)
• Select application from “START” icon
• Choose Tung-Navi or E-Catalog
• Input data definition screen will be displayed

• Select the “Application Details” tab and enter values into the mandatory fields:
Material, Diameter “D”, Overall depth of cut.
• Click: “Find tools”
• The results will be displayed.

Step 2 (For Turning application)
For external turning, you can change the size of toolholder. 25mm or 1” shank
size toolholder is chosen in initial setting.

1. Tool Details: (For Turning application)
Advanced search always follows the quick search.
Without filling in the mandatory fields, the following steps will not be activated.
It is possible to dictate different options, such as: Insert materials, tool designation, etc.
Example 1: Dictating a insert material
Click “Tool Details” and select “Insert material”, then “Find tools”.
Recommendation with the selected material only will be displayed.

Adjust the pre-entered defaults when they are unusual.
Example 1: Clamping
Enter Stability Details and select “Clamping” status.
Recommendations will be displayed.

3. Machine Details: (For Milling and Drilling application)
Software Recommendations take the machine properties into consideration. Defaults are pre
inserted and can be adjusted by user.
Enter machine details - select adapter type, size, and change values for machine power and
RPM range.
Recommendations that take the input data into consideration will be displayed.
1. Select the Stability Details

1. “Minimize and Maximize Input” Section
Indicate Arrow
Minimized input section – a larger output results section will be displayed.
Indicate again and return to original.
2. Maximize the Recommended Options to 5 for Each Brand
Increased number of tool recommendations for each brand name will be displayed.
Indicate again and return to original.

3. Expand Information Parameters for Each Tool
Click on the + sign (tool, insert, working conditions)
An expanded number of information parameters for each tool will be displayed.
Click again and return to original.
4. Sorting by Parameter
Example: sorting by feed.
Indicate the arrow near parameter and choose the required option from the displayed menu.
The requested result will be displayed.
