Travelling is the only activity that can help people overcome habits of procrastination or being a couch potato. Some places are so magical that they instantly give us the energy to get up, go out and explore. The same happened to me when I went to Hyderabad for a week during my holidays.

Travelling can give you confidence to be friendly with someone whom you have never met before. I also went horse riding, trekking and rowing. We visited the Ramoji Film City, which was fascinating because of the special effects and sets used to make films. I also saw the Char Minar, Bijapur temple and the Golconda fort. So, if you are inquisitive about historical places, you must go to Hyderabad.

When our plane landed in Hyderabad, I was full of enthusiasm and felt joy like never before. I did not feel the urge to rest in the hotel and was eager to explore the place. My father always made me believe that the more we explore, the more we experience. So without wasting any of our precious travelling time, we went to see the Hassan Sagar Lake, which was not far from our hotel. The lake connects two cities: Hyderabad and Secunderabad. We went for a boat ride and also interacted with other tourists.

We also saw the Panch Mahal, Diwan-e-Khas and Akbar's room. Jodha Bai's palace and the Ibadat Khana left us awestruck. It had a pillar in between and gargoyles in different corners of the room. Soon after, we went to the famous Panchhi Petha shop in Agra. It took us about half an hour to choose three varieties of pethas and we returned home with bags full of sweets. The entire journey was like a seesaw.I felt different emotions as there was happiness at being there and sadness at the thought of leaving the place. But I really had the time of my life there. I am sure that when the travelling bug will bite me again, I will experience one or more adventure full of surprises because travelling is something I can't resist.

It is true that I have been bitten by a travel bug. I live in India which is a country with a rich history, full of forts and tombs. I've visited many of the country's cultural and heritage sites. During my last summer holidays, I went to Agra with my siblings. We reached our destination in the afternoon and so we straight away headed to see the Taj Mahal. My ticket was not charged as I went in through the kids queue. We entered a massive gate with Urdu verses from the Quran written on it. As soon as we moved past it, I saw the magnificent Taj Mahal. It was as white as snow and due to the sunlight, was shining with a golden tinge. We roamed around in the garden and took several rounds around the building. We also got to see the Yamuna.Enjoying the view of the Taj Mahal with the sun setting in the background was a magical combination. The following day we were on our way to visit the great fort of Akbar which is at Fatehpur Sikri. We appointed a tour guide who explained everything about the design and architecture to us. I had also read about this place in my history book and I couldn't resist asking endless questions.
