Describe the abiotic factors of your ecosystem In summer, average temperature is 70 degrees

Fahrenheit

In winter, average temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit

Has four seasons; winter, spring, summer and fall

Receives 30 to 60 inches of precipitation a year

Has rivers, streams, creeks ,spring ,lakes ,ponds and marshes

Soil is generally rich, lots of nutrients, and good for farming

Only a few hours of sunlight in winter

Producer: Deciduous tree. How does your producer rely on other organisms in the deciduous forest?

Birds and squirrels bury seeds to grow trees

During photosynthesis carbon dioxide goes into the leaf and makes glucose

Dead plants and animals put nutrients in the soil

The earthworms droppings help the soil

How do other organisms of your ecosystem rely on your producer to survive? Mice, squirrels, deer, pigeons, and other birds live

there

Woodpeckers drill in the trunk of the tree for insects

The caterpillars and bugs eat sap from oak trees

Some bugs nibble on leaves

How do humans affect your ecosystem? Dumping oil/ pollution

People plant trees

People make windmills for electricity

People cut down trees

Choose one biotic or abiotic factor in your ecosystem & describe how a change in one of these could your ecosystem.

Change – take out deciduous tree:

If there were no deciduous trees, people would have no lumber

The squirrels would have no acorns for food

Birds would have no food or homes

No oxygen for people and animals

People would have no wood

If there were no leaves, soil would not be rich for farming

Less paper supplies

and acid rain

In Asia and Europe, the deciduous forest is vast
