INSIDE is educating the future designers for an innovative practice in spatial design with a focus on current social and cultural challenges with an urgency. INSIDE aims to educate interior architects as autonomous minds, working in an applied context, who succeed in deploying the built environment as material for the imagina-tion. The programme delivers students who will evolve into responsible spatial designers who shape the relation between the space that re-lates most directly to people and the world that surrounds that.

Job opportunities completely relate to the per-sonal position the student develops, within the professional field. Alumni proceed their careers as independent interior architects but also in architectural offices, or start a researching or writing career. The broad network you can build up through studying at INSIDE helps you to start up your professional career.

The Master Interior Architecture (INSIDE) is an internationally oriented Master’s programme that takes an interdisciplinary approach to the field of interior architecture. INSIDE is educating the future designers for an innovative practice in spatial design with a focus on current social and cultural challenges with an urgency. Through our curriculum we not only educate but also create knowledge in collaboration with key architectural offices and researchers. We teach and study how to turn idealism into spatial design by conducting research and mastering design processes, all in accordance with our ‘learning by doing’ motto.

By engaging with society and being aware of economic and technological changes, you will evolve into an entrepreneurial interior architect who is aware of the impact of design on its immediate surroundings.

The INSIDE programme is structured in a similar way to a research and design office. The main features of the course are the Studios in which students complete the entire process of a re-search and design project: orientation, research, analysis, concept development, design, pres-entation and evaluation. Within the research and design process, various aspects are explored in depth in four parallel programmes: Theory, Flows, Skills and Travel.
